the worst agency ever, these are real thieves, they take your money and find any possible trick not to give the car and take your money. better spend something more but at least not twice!!!!!! never again. going by lawyer

Disgusted by the service (lack of ) provided. Not even capable to respond to a basic info query and , on top of that they charged me twice.
Probably this company is managed by some retired person from his basement.

My experience could not have been worse.
Virtually all information on the voucher was wrong. I checked with both parties before my trip and the AutoEscape said "if there are differences we will refund the claim". The difference was 320€ on a 120€ hire. Yes, I ended up paying 320€ more and the rip-off company claims that they cant do anything since this is between me and the rental car company, because we signed a contract. They take no responsibility for the difference in CDW of 600€ and out of hours charge of 50€.
Would rather walk next time. Their low price isn't low when they rob you blind in the end.

I have ordered the car in this company in June 2016 and have payed the total insurance. After getting some damage it was charged from my credit card by a local company I sent all documents to Autoescape and got the Massage that they were going to refund me half of the sum. But I still didn't get anything!!!!!

We have booked a car on this website and did not get any e mail confirmation for the reservation. I wanted to call back and send emails but it was impossible to reach them. Unfortunately they had already taken our money... So we have been fooled of 600 euro...

I booked a car with this rental company but decided to cancel; they refused to refund my money. Don't be fooled by the cheaper cost on the site, the figure goes up considerably when you turn up to pick the car.
the contact number is unreachable during weekends, and they are abrupt, even dropping the phone at one stage. They need to be reported to the authorities.
The worst custtomer service I have ever dealt with, PLEASE STAY AWAY as it is not worth the bother.

Rented a car from Autoescape & Avis. All went well, until car was returned and getting home. The car rental firm was then pulling 120USD for something I have no idea what it was.
Contacted Autoescape who said it was because of refueling. I refueled the car at the airport and still had the receipt so sent it to them. After 20 mails and 3 phone calls, they still refused to put this money back, and had an exceptionally bad attitude.
I reported them to Mastercard for using my credit card without authorization, and Mastercard reimbursed me.
Such an inserious company, without customer service should not be able to operate. I am lucky I did not have to deal with an accident case with them.
Stay far far away

At first, the site seems legit and well organized, but when we arrived at our destination, they told us that we didn't pay for the insurance, and if we refused there would be hell to pay.
We argued for about an hour and then decided that we would pay, we walked to the cashier and she told us to pay almost 250 €, which is double of the original price.
Apparently, Auto escape didn't contact the car rental company (Goldcar) about the insurance and when we contacted them, they told us that it wasn't their problem but ours.
So In conclusion, don't be tempted by the shiny prizes and always check twice.

We took an extra insurrance for our car rental in Sicily in July 2016. The car was damaged and we´ve paid over 1000 Euros at place when we returned the car.
The damage was covered by the insurrance and approved by Auto Escape with information that the money will come within 21 working days, We have called them several times and now after totaly
40 working days they told us to wait another 21 days.

I booked the car for 3 days and when I arrived at the counter they claimed that my Credit Card was a Debit Card and I coudn't get the car. The worst is that they kept the full amount of the reservation.

They will try to take 30 euros fee. I had to call the customer service; the first agent was rude person who apparently hated his job and tried to ruin my day, the next agent I called acknowledged the mistake a gave me a full refund. I wasted so much time on this, never will book with this company again!

DO NOT use AutoEscape for rental car bookings! Also, be wary of their affiliates/subsidiaries - carrentals.com and cardelmar.com. They are either dishonest or utterly incompetent and their business is a sham.
I cancelled a booking I had made with them in France through their .fr page. When I later tried to use the voucher I had received, I was told that because I was an American, I could not use the French site and thus could not use the voucher. Their rep told me to make a booking through the American affiliate, carrentals.com, and that he would reimburse me the cost of the voucher directly so that I could use the money for the subsequent rental. I did this, but no reimbursement came. When I contacted them after a couple of weeks, they told me that I could not be reimbursed except minus a fee that amounted to more than half the value of the voucher. When I asked them if that meant I could use the voucher from the French site for rentals in other countries, two different representatives both gave me vague answers and would not give me a clear response even when I reiterated the question clearly as a yes or no matter. These representatives were both rude and condescending, acting as if I didn't understand what they were saying, when THEY were failing to understand my questions or give direct answers. They had me on the phone or waiting for their calls for 3 hours and finally told me I could use the voucher in other countries (after also having told me that no, I could not use it in other countries), but that you could only apply the voucher over the phone, not online, so I would have to call them and deal with more rigamarole to try to get it used, and I still don't know if it would work. Finally, I wrote an email to customer service saying that I was dissatisfied with their solutions and that it was absurd that I couldn't either get a full refund or simply use the money I had already paid them for another rental. They responded (which I only discovered after they closed my support ticket, since no notifications were sent to my email) requesting my bank account information, which was never involved in the transaction as I paid with a credit card, and I can only imagine what they "needed" it for.
This company may function if your situation is completely straightforward (i.e. renting a car in your own country, running into no situations that might create opportunities to levy fees, and not needing to cancel or modify your reservation), but in any other case, they will attempt to scam you. DO NOT use Auto Escape, Car Rentals, or Car Del Mar!

Avoid at all costs. It seems like they also inflate the ratings on certain websites like skyscanner. They are the middle men between the rental car company and the actual customer. I don't think they actually own any cars. Anyways this wouldn't be a problem if they actually quote prices and agreements between the customer and the rental car accurately. I ended up having to pay an hole extra half tank of gas even though the agreement on auto escape was for half tank only. Lesson learned: always rent directly from car companies. They don't seem to answer my emails either.

I booking frequently hire cars but this service was very badly.
I printed the voucher of Auto Escape. Everthing was ok.
On the sheet stand car rental agency is on the airport birmingham. I looked around asked on the information center for Easirent (Car Rental Company). No one had a clue where or who Easirent is. So I called the number of Easirent. They told me I have to take the bus. I waited 20min and took for 20min the bus and arrived on a park lot. There I found in a small corner Easirent (Easirent having no signs!!!).
I paid before to Auto Escape the rental car costs with my VISA DEBIT Bank Account. I signed everything by Easirent and then they wanted my credit card. I had no credit card only VISA DEBIT. EASIRENT DON`T ACCEPT VISA DEBIT (EVERY OTHER CAR RENTAL COMPANY BEFORE ACCEPT VISA DEBIT). I agreed with Auto Escape a Damage Excess of £1200 but EASIRENT didn`t accept that without CREDIT CARD. It stand nothing that I need a CREDIT CARD by EASIRENT on my voucher. In the end effect I must agreed with EASIRENT for every day £12 for £0 Damage Excess. I paid on EASIRENT more than I paid on Auto Escape. I couldn`t cancel my agreement because then I would have paid penalty.
Thank you AUTO ESCAPE! Do you think you can legal beat your customer? Do you think everybody read the complete terms and conditions? You know exactly the details and what you have done. With this service I take revanche and hope people who read this don`t book your service.

Booked a car from this company for 4 days in paris. After arriving into paris they would not release a hire to me so I was left stranded at an airport! Tried contacting auto escape via phone but they were very rude and told me to send the customer services an email. I received the most unhelpful email from autoeacap who were again rude and very harsh with their response saying 'it's your fault should have checked the small print'. I would advise anyone to re-think before booking your hire car withis company, spend the extra couple of pounds on booking and go with a different company, it WILL save you a lot of money in the long run as they charge extra after booking!! WORSE HIRE CAR COMPANY I have ever used ( and I have used many! And only company where I haven't actually received the car!)

We hired cars from Gold Car at Gran Canaria Airport through Autoescape. The booking and payment were made to Autoescape in advance from back home.
We ended up paying MORE THAN DOUBLE THE PRICE than we understood from Autoescape`s information before hand. At the check out of the car at the airport there were extra charges that Goldcar added (in a most obscurely matter!) that they claimed were compulsory.
There were NO INFORMATION WHAT SO EVER from Autoescape that there possibly could be extra charges from Goldcar at the check out of the car.
The information about the extra charges were furthermore given by the Goldcar staff in a way so that it was impossible for us to understand. Even though I explained to them that I had payed for insurance in advance to Autoescape and therefore didn´t want to pay for ensurance to Goldcar they somehow made me sign a contract forcing me me to pay another ensurance!

Do not rent a car from this company. The actual cost you have to pay is 2-3 Times higher then the asking price. One hoax is that you have pay 100 euro for fuel and then return the Car empty. On a small Island It is Almost impossible to use all fuel.

This is the worse experience ever! After 14 weeks and more than 20 e-mails forth and back we still haven´t recieved the money they should return to us. We have all the necessary insurance and done everything by the book as we should, but Autoesape does not stick to their own policy written in their conditions - It says it wil take maximum 8 weeks before they return money. They have broken the contract!
BIG WARNING: DON´T EVER USE AUTOESCAPE - THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE!
