Autoadapt.com is a company in sweden that makes different disabled equipment to go in disabled people's cars. one is the joey hoist. it's a platform hoist where as you put your scooter or powerchair on and it supposedly lifts it up. my veichle been fitted with a new version of the joey hoist that was released in june, it takes 159 kilos. but my powerchair is 134 kilos and once you lbegin to lift the powerchair the hoists motor makes an awful screaming noise as if it's to heavy. if you live on a hill or sloping driveway then the joey hoist is useless as it will lift it screaming for dear life but if your back of your veichle is facing down hill the joey hoist won't go in! but if you back of your veichle is up hill the chair will go in but won't come back out. so yes a £3000 waste of money. do not bother. they also go by the name of elap in the uk. Elap is part of autoadapt.com that's in sweden but you can only purchase there items from Elap. my thought would be to avoid the joey hoist for powerchair s as there usually heavier than scooters and don't buy joey hoist.
