To be up close and personal with muskox, reindeer, arctic foxes, seals, walrus AND polar bears, not to mention all the polar birds is what my dream has been all my life. I saw Spitsbergen on school maps and decided as a kid that one day I would see the real thing as well as Greenland. From Australia they were as far away as anything on the planet. Aurora's team, some of whom I'd met before going to Antarctica, are impressively knowledgeable and great company. I learnt SO much! Alison and I had a ball.
Thanks to everyone :)

The Aurora team on my last voyage to Antarctica, Sth. Georgia and the Falklands was excellent, friendly and competent, everything one could ask for. This was my 4-th time with Aurora expeditions, that should say it all. I've done the Shackelton Voyage twice, both were very different due to different landings and islands, different crew and different passengers.
It makes you want to go again and again and again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Aurora cruise in Antarctica. Holidays are made up of a lot of things which combine to make a break your time. Key to my fab time on the ship was the staff. The expedition staff were knowledgeable and sharing of this knowledge as well as personable. Being able to go get off the ship into the zodiacs and travel to different on-shore locations a couple of times per day was terrific. Our chats with staff at meal time were special as they spread themselves out amongst the tables so we got to learn about their backgrounds and special interests. The food were delicious and there was always plenty. Tea and coffee were always available as was access to the bar!

Aurora Expeditions are consistently great! This was our 5th trip with Aurora, and we had a wonderful time. Really expert expedition leaders generously shared their knowledge, all staff were friendly, patient, ever-helpful, and the places we visited were amazing. We hope to travel with Aurora again.

Awesome. Lelia was great for the Patagonia trip, Howard and the crew for the Antarctica leg were absolute characters and was truly memorable.

I was a little disappointed that we were sometimes restricted in our landing places on South Georgia due to the numbers & aggressive nature of breeding seals. Had I known (this was the breeding season) I may have perhaps made the voyage earlier or latter in the season. Other than this the voyage was outstanding. I love "small" boat sailing with a truly dedicated expedition team who took our safety as their top priority. When we did land the opportunities for nature & landscape & seascape photography were outstanding with a wonderful professional (Peter Eastway) to help us get the best shots. Christian, Heidi & Nina gave us great insight into what we were seeing & experiencing, Kathrine, Allan & Natalia all did a terrific job in looking after our wants from the galley & the bar & Captain Vladimir welcomed us onto his bridge. I hope the Greg Mortimer, will provide the same great experience as we found on the Polar Pioneer.

A last trip on Polar Pioneer. As good as ever - wonderful staff, great company and so enjoyable. A lump in my throat as I said "goodbye" but happy memories for a long time.
Thank you and all the best for the future with "Greg Mortimer"

This trip was a standout from the other 4 trips with Aurora, it was something special to see the wild life in a snow covered landscape, even a snow man on the deck.
Because of the pack ice we land at place the Aurora staff had not landed before and pushed through about 1.5km of ice to get close to the second Polar bear, the first one came right up to the ship as the Captain had nudged into a sheet of ice which the bear came to, you could see it sniffing the air maybe it wanted so of the chief's curry lunch.

Just fabulous! Friendly, helpful staff who go out of their way to help. Special mention for Dr JB who went beyond in assisting a passenger who had specific needs. I will miss the Polar Pioneer but can highly recommend Aurora for a trip out of the ordinary and into the spectacular. Thanks for a great trip.

The best small ship adventure you can have - great expedition teams with a wealth of experience dedicated to making certain all the passengers have the trip of a life time. The number of repeat passengers speaks volumes. Fabulous destinations and the daily activities, informative lectures and talks, the highly experienced staff from the boat staff to the tour leaders to the zodiac drivers to the medicos and everyone in the kitchens are all dedicated to make certain you just love the journey and not just the destination. Our third time with Aurora and over a dozen of our friends have all booked with them on our recommendation. Do not delay in booking with Aurora you will have the trip of your life.

Fabulous trip, we did the kayaking and it couldn't have been any better. Amazing scenery, fantastic expedition leaders, particularly our kayaking guide.

I have travelled to Antarctica and the Arctic with Aurora expeditions and have enjoyed marvellous adventures. This is aided by the variety of talks of the areas and excursions in the zodiacs to landings to view animals and flora and landscape. I recommend Aurora for their variety of holidays and their good customer service in arrangements for customers.

I recently enjoyed a fabulous trip to the Arctic - Greenland and Svalbard with Aurora Expeditions. They are a really well organised company - all pre-departure communication was excellent and the Aurora team on board were very professional, passionate and went out of their way to make it the best trip for us passengers in a friendly, “no fuss” manner. I’d highly recommend them to anyone considering travelling to the Arctic or Antarctic, as I also travelled with them “down south” in February 2018.

What a memorable holiday! The expedition team members and Russian crew ensured we all individually and collectively had our needs, wants and desires catered for...right down to getting the right angle in the zodiacs for taking photographs. A month after the expedition and I am still left with a feeling of euphoria whenever I recall the natural wonders I witnessed...glaciers calving, puffins polar bears, 1 am sunrises, gentle soft snow on the deck and an ocean of ice! So much more to say, words are inadequate compared to my memories and feelings. Thank you to the whole team.

Wow We certainly enjoyed our Arctic adventure. The trip staff communicated knowledge and important instructions very well. We were well advised and consistently in a position to gain a first hand experience in such a wonderful land.

After several voyages with Aurora (Scotland, Antarctica and the Arctic) we’d give six stars out of five if it were possible. And that’s not just because of the itineraries, and the wonderful scenery and wildlife we saw. And let's not forget the interesting lectures on a variety of subjects!
We dearly love(d) the Polar Pioneer: that lovely, personable, little ship with its wonderful atmosphere, comfort and terrific size. Its particular ambiance is unique. It was hard to say goodbye.
All staff on all voyages were terrific. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, nice, kind, helpful, and always going out of their way to ensure the passengers have a great experience. The Russian captain & crew are great too, only some of them quite visible, but you just know that they all also aim to facilitate the best possible experience for the passengers. So congratulations to Aurora for having all these lovely people work for them.
Office staff and agents are terrific, too. We had trouble getting from Amsterdam to Longyearbyen for our last voyage, but Aurora’s staff has been tremendously helpful and had a crucial part in getting us there in time – against all odds!
You just can’t go wrong with Aurora.

My wife Julie and I had a whale (sorry) of a time. We loved the small ship. The crew were engaging and knowledgeable, the boat was comfortable and the food far exceeded my expectations. We will be looking forward to a voyage on the new Greg Mortimer hopefully in the not too distant future.

From arrival at low tide in Broome, below the jetty, to the hugs and best wishes on the wharf in Darwin the expedition was stunning, exhilarating and extremely sensitive to the Kimberley, it’s people and great fellow passengers.
Every crew member knew how to make you feel “special” and ensure the experience was memorable and one to savour as part of life’s wonderful journey.
