We had a boiler fitted earlier this year with Aura Gas. The boiler is working well, however I can't help but feel that the service wasn't quite complete. As part of the fit, we had the very old boiler removed, including water tanks. One tank was removed, however they left the piping and wires lose in the cupboard. They also didn't wire the boiler up properly and we had to pay for an electrician to come and do this. We also now need to pay for someone to come and remove the old wiring and pipes... I'm not sure if this is standard practice but it does feel like a job half done.

Had a boiler installed by Aura Gas a year ago, and received an email this year to have it serviced. Managed to get though on the phone which was an achievement (more on that later). Agreed an appointment for a Monday morning visit a few weeks ahead, between 8:30 and 12:30. The morning arrived and I took the morning off work to wait for the engineer. As I had not had any confirmation of the visit, I tried phoning to make sure everything was OK. Impossible to get through, tried requesting a call back, which I never had. Finally went onto the website mid-morning and through a web chat eventually confirmed that I was due a morning visit. Just after 12:00 got a call saying the engineer wasn’t going to make it. Had to arrange another half day off work - afternoon this time. Again, web chat conversation said definitely be with me - then later won’t be until between 6:30 and 7:30! Finally had a call from the engineer saying he wouldn’t make it and the office would contact me. 5 days later I have had no communication form Aura Gas! No apology, no offer of compensation for my wasted time, not even an offer of another appointment. They obviously have no idea what customer service is! Stay away!

I have just counted the number of reviews for May....there are 81 that have had boilers fitted in May of these 32 reviewed them on the same day the 14th which is very strange that 32 people would review Auragas on the same day... it doesn't give the times of the reviews unfortunately but suggests that 32 boilers were fitted in 12 days excluding Sundays.This then makes a person wonder if they are all genuine and that 32 people really did sit down on the same day to write reviews. How do you know Trust pilot if these are genuine??

Be very careful with Aura Gas.
An online quote of just shy of £3000 rose to just under £5000 after site survey. This was despite confirming, before the survey, that the quote was for everything - including the flue. I expected a small variance in price but not a £2000 jump. The quote was also more than £1000 quoted by a local installer recommended to me; and that quote included everything... and was like for like in terms of fitting and exhaust.
Interestingly, other technicians had suggested a smaller, less powerful, boiler as the present unit was apparently too powerful and was burning oil unnecessarily. The surveyor from Aura Gas noted (and commented positively on) the fire safety valve by the oil tank. Aura Gas quoted for a new fire safety valve and a like for like (more powerful) boiler.
Even on offering Aura Gas the chance to explain and requote they still were more than £500 more expensive than the recommended installer.
My suggestion is don’t pluck a name from the web and don’t look at the headline online price. Ask friends and family for those they would personally recommend.

While what I previously wrote largely stands – that the price given online was radically different from the final quote – the disconnect in the two prices might be a function of the website quoting tool not making it crystal clear that it only quotes for a simple swap out / swap in. The tool does say ‘what’s included… everything’ but in reality, was never going to include the exhaust or other sundries. This was not clear to a layman such as myself who is not technically able to know what it should and should not include.
Mr Morgan was clearly stung by my comments and has taken them personally; there is a desire to do the right thing and to not cause upset. I have given Aura Gas a chance to quote once more.]

We didn’t complain when the boiler installation in the spring took 10 days instead of 2. The engineer programmed the central heating for us but when we needed it for the first time this year, it did not work, we had some heat during the night, none during the day. I rang Aura twice yesterday they were supposed to ring back , they didn’t.
Tried again today, eventually spoke to an agent, politely requesting technical help and was told we would have to pay over£55 to have the control panel checked. We asked to speak to a supervisor, we were told someone would be ringing us back within 2 hours. They
Not impressed with customer service to say the least. And, we are cold.
Thank you for your answer, I note that you didn’t address the fact that you didn’t ring back on three occasions, no apology there.
Thank you for reminding us of the “ regulations “ on user errors, if the engineer had programmed the system correctly in the first place, we wouldn’t have had to ask a friend to rectify it.

Had new boiler fitted couple years ago no end of problems. Radiators leaked in bedroom through the ceiling downstairs. Radiator in lounge leaked dirty black stuff over floor. Been out to 'fix' problems numerous times until the last service engineer finally discovered what was wrong with it two years later. Stopped working couple weeks ago had to agree call out charge of £54 for the first 15 minutes before they would even come out even though boiler still under guarantee - was a blown fuse three minute job and I supplied the fuse. Needless to say it is no longer with them I have now taken boiler cover elsewhere and definitely would not recommend.

Fitted a new boiler just over a year ago (previous boiler died of old age after 50 years service). The engineer did an excellent installation. Everything is working well with no problems. Yearly service just been carried out with no problems. Would recommend this company to a friend.

Installation completed on the agreed date, very professional engineers kept me informed of the progress made, explained how to operate the boiler and controls prior to leaving, cleaned up after completion of the installation.
I have had two maintenance services since then, on both occasions the engineer arrived promptly, carried out the service thoroughly. As a retired gas installer I feel that I am well placed to recognise professional services

Work was completed as outlined and a burst pipe (not the fault of the engineer) was dealt with efficiently. Everything has worked fine since the installation of the combi boiler and I would recommend Aura Gas to others.
