If I could give 0 stars I would. I was charged a monthly pay after the free trial without any notification. I realised the trial was over first when I got a message that my card has been charged by audible. I decided I'll pay one more month and I'll find some books for those credits and give audible a chance. However I couldn't find any books that I liked so I decided I'll cancel the membership since I didn't want to pay another month. My credit card did it for me though since it expired before I did the cancellation so since they couldn't charge me they cancelled my membership on their own. And guess what? All my credits were gone! If you cancel the membership your extra credits are gone! Which scam is this! So I paid for nothing?! Seriously stay away from audible they're a terrible company.

I lost all my credits after cancelling my subscription. I was hoping to use them once I had decided which books to read after a period where I had no time to read.
But no, Audible just had to STEAL away my credits that I have payed for...

I am surprised by the amount of negative reviews on Audible here. You cannot imagine the wealth of knowledge and awareness I have developed through the years by just listening to audio books through Audible.com. I have been a member of Audible for i don't remember how long exactly but at least 4 years. There are books that I don't like but it's my choice. One credit of my membership allowance can cover double or 3 times the monthly fee which means I'm getting stuff for free. I even started sending gifts to my children and friends using my credits, the thing that I have been waiting for for so long and finally it happened.

Infuriating. Book kept going back to the beginning instead of starting where I left off. They re-credited me and suggested I buy it again, Same thing happened. Unbelievably frustrating.

Audible is a scam. Instead of saying they will charge you a monthly fee wether you buy a book or not, they tell you that you can keep up to 6 credits without being charged. No way to cancel a month if you are not interested. I have just woken up to the fact that I have thrown away $792.00 over the past 4 years.

Audible books helps me a lot. Audible offers variety of audiobooks to choose from. If you have a membership, I recommend maximizing it like returning books you don't actually like.

Give very careful thought before signing up for a free trial, it's almost impossible to cancel and when you do they keep charging you. Plus when you cancel they take back any remaining credits you have back from you. Yes you have paid for them and they take them back. In my opinion that is theft, plain and simple.
Plus you cannot cancel from the mobile site you have to go on the desptop to do that.
My experience has soured my entire interaction with Amazon

Dishonest company with dishonest practices.
Audible, even if your TOS says that you can steal from your customers in the form of credits, and we still accept it, I doubt the legality of this practice.

Only a tiny fraction of the world's books are available in audio format, so if you're looking for an interesting book on a particular topic it's very inefficient to research to find a book you want on the web and then see if Audible has it, because 99.9% of the time they don't.
It would be more efficient to search Audible itself except that their Advanced search is utterly useless. Their "keywords" seem to be only drawn from the other fields such as author or title. Their staff don't seem to know anything at all - it's like they were just hired that morning - and their English is generally very poor so it's hard to even explain the question to them.

I have gf had audible for many years. But the updates to the android app are getting worse and worse. Go back a year and the app was so much better.

I was an avid Audible fan and have used the service for several years.
My library stopped up loading my books correctly and allowed me to purchase a book I had already got.I have tried to get the issue resolved but they will not dedicate a person to my case and every time they contact me I get cut off.
I have cancelled my contract but it is so annoying when they will not deal with your issue

Awful customer service. I cancelled my account 8 months ago. Still been charged. When I contacted them they acknowledged the issue but refunded only 2 months. Trying to get in contact again is nightmare as they cant solve my issue by email only phone and they have messed all my details up. Not holding out hope i'll get the rest refunded!

The service itself is good but look
When you do something shady, I am going to go out of my way to call you out
It is standard that with Audible, you get 1 credit per month for paying the monthly fee
But you know what they do?
If you have paid for a month, then you cancel just before the next month
They remove your credit and leave you with nothing........

Absolutely horrible customer service. The people are nice enough but their ability to help the customer is non-existent. There was a promotion in my Amazon extension that said "Get 12 months of Audible for just $119.50 plus an Echo Dot for 99¢ extra" - When I clicked on the link, it took me to a page that has no terms and conditions, and no where did it say it's not available to already existing members. I have the screenshots to prove all of this.
After chatting with Amazon, they told me that they couldn't help and it was Audible. So, like a moron, I wasted my time on the phone with them only for them to tell me that they can't control what Amazon lists, and they can do nothing for me. Time wasted? over 15 minutes. Do they care? Nope - too bad.
I guess now my research begins to find another place to find audio books and to warn colleagues and friends of this company's inability to do anything in the best interest of their members.

Don't get it! books cost the same on itunes, without the membership!!! Of all the books I've compared, ALL of them have exactly the same price! this makes no sense...
Also, I really didn't like how before subscribing the make you think that you only have to pay the membership, and all books will be free. I think it was highly misleading. Not happy.

Audible's customer service is awful. First of all, It take a long time for them to respond. And when they do, it takes about 15 emails for them to understand the issue. At the end you're at square one because they can't help you. They really do not take their customers seriously.
They don't even have a complaint department.
Overall very disappointing!!
