I live in the small village of Drax in Yorkshire. Our bus route is subsidised. It seems that because of this, Arriva thinks we deserve a third class service. On the first day they took over from the wonderful TransDev (why did we have TranDev taken away from us!) - they were late. The driver was rude (an often are now) and reduced an elderly lady in the village to tears. And since then, from my personal experience, they have on several occasions failed to run a bus at all, leading me to have to get an expensive taxi to work. They are ALWAYS late and never a word of apology from the drivers. I have not once, since they started the run, managed to catch my usual train to work. A few years ago there was a postmark on our letters "Arriva- serving Yorkshire right " What have we ever done?!

I have complained directly to Arriva on a number of occasions on issues such as disappearing buses, late busses, plain old no-shows and non-existent customer service. Each and every time I have been shrugged off, dismissed, and even one time I was called a liar by their customer service team! I mean the whole thing is just a joke. A terrible, soul crushing joke - when all you want to do is get to and from work. I don’t enjoy waiting 2 hours at a bus stop, I don’t enjoy having buses drive right past me at stops despite we waving frantically for them to stop. I don’t enjoy their customer service stating the bus I catch doesn’t exist (oh yes, their CS team stated there was no 201 service in Kirklees when I complained. What bus have I been catching every single day then??? Unbelievable!) I have written to my local MP regarding Arriva as well but nothing is changing. They have a monopoly in this area and don’t care one jot about their long suffering, freezing cold, overpaying customers!

So it seems I have an unpayed bill from Arriva Tog a/s from almost three years ago. I didnt know about this until I recieved an expensive invoice from Intrum (the step before Inkasso (debt collection company)).
I didnt know about it since I never recieved any invoices or late bills. Also I have an automatic payment agreement with Rejsekortet/Arriva since I first got Rejsekortet.
Normally when you dont pay your telephone or electricity bill the company shut your supply down. This never happent with my Rejsekort. I never had any problems using rejsekortet as to credits on my card and I cant see the missing payment at my personal page at Rejsekortet.dk.
So I contacted Arriva Tog a/s since they collect the money from Rejsekortets costumers. Noone at Costumers Service could or would talk to me about this! They took my phonenumber and said someone from another departement would call me back. They didnt...! I made a written claim to Arriva through Costumers Service at Rejsekortet, they never responded!
Its not okay to collect money this way. I have no way to make any claims. Why not contact me first before surrendering my case to Intrum is what I dont understand?? Its normal practice to let people know they have an unpayed bill before sending the case to a debt collection company where the bills are just getting more and more expensive very rapidly.
Basically it seems they can do what they want without consideration of the costumer. Which other companies does that except maybe shady businneses.

p*+* poor customer service ! Emailed to say my daughters school bus did not turn up so school kids had to walk to school (approx. 3 miles) and walk down country road with no path. 4 weeks later emailed back and said "our bus broke down that day"

Credit where credit due the bus driver on the 1628 153 on 31 october excellent ...most considerate and waited for elderly passengers to be seated and a comfortable journey too no harsh braking

I’ve been using Arriva for 2 years now and there is still no improvement in timing, they’re are always late which make me late and frustrated and neither of their apps are any good they’re as slow as the drivers.

My complaint about this 'outfit' is the absurd amount of time it took to answer a phone call (45 minutes) and then I was immediately cut off. Frustrating doesn't even begin to cover it. I tried again but gave up after 15 minutes. Website useless, so spent well over an hour trying to get the answer to a couple of queries. Get your act together boyos or something will have to be done about you.

Asked me to send an unused ticket for a refund as their service was not running when needed.
Ended up not processing the refund and not sending the ticket which was usable either... And taking Seven days to reply

The bus is never on time give the same excuse any time you complain their live chat feature is staffed by one employ and is never on line tried for 3 days to use it and it was online once. The buses are tired and decreaped been getting the same bus for 2 years and suddenly they decide to flip the timetable so the less convenient bus is coming instead.
Took 3months to get compensation after the strikes, absolute joke of a company you have the ocasonal nice driver but there's one horror at least that runs my route treats you like garbage for no reason especially if you have the audacity to have a slightly crumpled bus ticket. made a show of me getting out the cab to find me on the bus to see if again. I could rant for days about the abysmal service I pray another bus company can do my route as there's only 2 buses by mine and there both arriva.

Daughter has a term pass for school after the strikes I rang up about compensation as saw a article on Facebook but was told i had missed the cut off for this ( they didn't advertise it very well ) they did say they would send 2 day passes though. Unfortunately they have not been received. So not only have I paid for a service that was not available they have not done anything about the complaint. The buses are never on time either late or early what a bunch of crooks

Service this past week with bus 1a is NOT ACCEPTABLE. 14 minutes between busses. The 4 busses at one time and they seem to be racing to the next stop together as a group. Today again 14 minutes to wait for the bud. Went ok until svanemoellen st. 4 busses sitting 4 chauffeurs waiting. But the driver's were waiting for a bus with a different number. So no one was driving. Sat 15 minutes waiting for a new driver. We were moved from bus without a good explanation. A 20 minute ride has taken 45 to 65 minutes all week. You should be paying me to take the bus instead of me paying you for rotten service.

I had an extremely bad experience on board of the 5C line. I am a biomedical researcher working in Copenhagen for more than 5 years. My family came to Copenhagen to visit me during the weekend and leaved on Sunday. I brought them to the airport and we took the bus 5C from the station close to my place. My father bought a ticket from the bus driver and he was charged 4 zones (48dk) instead of 3 (as I have always payed). Convinced that happened by mistake, I told the bus driver. Immediately he started to shout at me saying I don't know anything about prices in dk. I therefore asked for his name. At this point he stopped the bus on the middle of the street and, screaming like crazy, said I should get off the bus immediately or he wouldn't leave again and that he wouldn't tell me his name at all. Obviously I did not get off the bus. Finally, at Norreport st he got very aggressive acting like he wanted to follow us into the metro to punch us.
Me and my family were shocked. I was sure this type of things could not happen in Denmark. I contacted the company by email explaining the unacceptable situation and providing them with the evidence it was indeed a mistake of the bus driver. I was at least expecting to receive some excuse by them. Instead NOTHING! They completely ignored my complain and no answered at all.
I am disgusted by this company. I will try to avoid using busses again. Not to mention that the service itself is horrible (especially this new 5C line).. always delayed and very crowded. The only conclusion I can have is.. they should totally feel ashamed.

Har boet forskellige steder i verden, dette gælder også ulande. Ikke engang i de ULANDE var der noget ligeså RÅDDENT OG KATASTROFALT som hvad end Arriva skal forestille og tilbyde.
DSB som er nationalt kendt for være alt andet end optimalt er med LÆNGDER stadig foran Arriva. Selvom kontrøllere i DSB virker som om de har en skrue løs af og til, så er det intet sammenlignet med de inhumane, psykotiske kreaturer som Arriva har spejdet ud af helvedes dybder til at blive deres kontrollører.
Jeg vil fraråde ALLE mennesker med respekt for dem selv, om at stige ombord på et Arriva tog.

ALWAYS pick the other alternatives, even if it means riding a bike to your destination. YES, it is THAT bad. If you like many others have been victimized by Arriva' horrible services and customer-treatment, please do not let those experiences affect your view on Denmark or the danish people, as we in Denmark have high values of altruism -something that Arriva are opposed to.
