I paid $69.00 for documents three months ago and every time I contact them I get excuses an apologies. I have requested a refund twice now. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!

There I was trying to find out who my great grandparents are. This place seemed legit at first and a good place to find some actual records. They aren't. The website doesn't even work below the top margin. They made signing up super easy to sign up and literally nothing on their website below the top small bit. I can't even contact them to know how complete garbage they are because nothing on the website works. I just hope the "free trial" doesn't come back to bite my heinie later.

I cancelled my trial membership because the service couldn't find anything I was looking for and I cancelled early too: canceled effective 5/15/2019. and I still got charged the $49.95 for the service after a month.... POS garbage website I don't recommend anyone use.

I thought I'd canceled the free Newspapers.com trial that I'd signed up for via my Archives free trial; it turns out that I hadn't and was alarmed when a charge for $49.95 popped up on my phone. "Fair enough", I thought, "the charge was made just now, so I'll immediately contact customer service and get it straightened out within a day or two". First I messaged Newspapers customer support, who directed me to Archives customer support. It's been nearly a week (and three requests for help on my end) and Archives has yet to dignify any of these messages with a response, let alone a refund. This is the first time in my life that I've ever publicly complained about any business, but to be completely and repeatedly ignored over an issue like this is ridiculous and unethical. YMMV but for anyone like me who considers $50 a considerable chunk of change, avoid Archives.com because once they take your money, that's apparently the last you'll see of it. There's no option to delete your credit card info from their site either, so this is something else to keep in mind before entrusting them with it.

I've found records from the 1880's. I've uncovered so much information. Not sure if I want to pay $9.99 a month to keep the access. For now I'm enjoying the information on my family that I have found.

I never authorized this company to take money from my account month after month. I tried more than once to cancel them I had to jump thru so many hoops it was ridiculous still to no avail I finally had to close my account. Never again!

I used the free trial in Nov/Dec 2017, I then cancelled the membership to which they gave me a cancellation date and number. I've recently found out that they have been withdrawing money from my credit card for over 12 months. When I've been in touch with both UK & Australian departments they acknowledge cancellation but want me to ring International to ask me what I have already supplied them by email. This mob are criminals and go out of their way to fob you off. Pay me the $200 you owe me you thieves!!!

I am Cherokee by blood through both, my mother's and my father's side of the family and beyond so proud. Even though I'm more than half Cherokee through my mother and my father, I'm still doing my family research and still researching my family and lost relatives. When I found this site, I decided to give Archives.com a test to try them out, but immediately, when I started researching my family on both sides, I immediately started getting a pop up with "Congratulations, one of your ancestors is a direct descendant of the mayflower through the same line on both sides of my family, which is falsified and deceptively misleading, because all of your family on both sides of you mother's and your father's family couldn't be related to the same person through one line and my Cherokee people and other Native Americans people from other other tribes as a rule, aren't related to or have anything to do with white Anglo saxons from Euro-Britain.

Worst genealogy search site I've ever seen. Poorly organized, hard to search, calculated to get inexperienced researchers to pay as long as possible. Avoid.

I had a great experience with archives.com When I wanted to cancel I called them right up and they took good care of me. I use it often and have been doing extensive research into 16 different lineages. I have been able to (with much patience) trace most of my ancestors back for 300 or more years.

BOA must have interest with this SCAM. BOA conspiracy must be obvious part of the scam... call was transferred to 3 associates trying to stop us from getting the victims' money refunded. The Bank Card services should be alarmed with all these credible complaints and file charges against SCAMMING ARCHIVES.COM.....BEWARE.

This is an unscrupulous outfit. There is inadequate disclosure that one request for information will convert into a monthly charge on your credit card. I submitted cancellation requests twice and they were ignored. When my credit card number number changed, they were able to get the new number from VISA -- without my permission -- and continue the monthly charges. Both Archives.com and VISA have liability for this fraudulant operation.

After signing up for a trial subscription, luckily through PayPal, I found it couldn't even provide me with a Birth Certificate. When I tried to scroll down pages, my screen locked. How could it not be able to provide a birth certificate?

You will never EVER EVER be able to get them to stop charging you. I'm going to turn them in to BBB. Do yourself a favor and avoid them like the plague!!!

Every resource that was free after I paid for a subscription is free on other sites. They state they have access to newspaper archives but what they don't say is that you must also pay newspapers.com to access them. A waste of time and money.

So I tried the "one week free trial" and after 5 days I tried to cancel my account so that I wouldn't start getting billed. There was no option to do this on the website, so I contacted them through the website to request confirmation that my subscription had ended, which went unanswered. Six months later when I changed my bank card, I received an email saying "we were unable to bill you this month" from them and realised they had been billing me $15 per month for the past 6 months so I asked them to refund me. They said if I could provide any email evidence of my attempt to cancel my account they would do this, so I found a six month old email to their customer service team which clearly spelled out that I wanted my account cancelled before any costs were incurred and sent that back to them, but then they replied to say it didn't matter, they were unable to provide a refund regardless. I'm not sure how I ended up in a battle for my own money after somebody stole it out of my bank account.

They lure you in with an ad that promises to provide records you are searching for. Then you are forced to sign up for a trial period and provide your credit card information. Once in their site, the RECORDS ARE WORTHLESS. I completely forgot to cancel the trial subscription. After reading other reviews here, I see that cancelling may have become another issue altogether. A month later they, of course, charged me for a service I didn't use, I canceled and asked for a refund, but they must be desperate because they fought tooth and nail for the $9.99 and got it. . STAY AWAY! You can most definitely find better info elsewhere on more reputable and customer-friendly websites.

thieves, steal money for a useless free trial which they don't even have info for I used it ONCE and it cost me £8.95 (GBP).
nightmare to cancel have to send a request instead of just clicking cancel. THERE IS ALSO NO OPTION TO REMOVE YOUR CARD DETAILS.
THIEVES, SCAMMERS AND FRAUDULENT TRANSACTIONS. I PROMISE I WILL ENSURE THIS SITE IS SHUT DOWN.

When I tried to cancel my trial period, which they make a bit difficult, the link led me back to the search page. What the hell is that? So I emailed them with screenshots of what happens when I try to click on the cancellation link. No response...then my Paypal gets debited and so I email them again regarding this issue. Silence is all I get. I have since disputed the charge with Paypal so hopefully I will get some progress with them and hopefully before Archives.com debits my Paypal account again.

I would say that this informtiion was very helpful in honestly educating me About this website and providing pure thought of interest in saving a curious and unsure soul from being at the clutches of being the prey of a corporate cyber bot programmed to provide as little information as possible about why your card payment is needed and to let consumers assume that it's q safety net just like YouTube red and put an ongoing payment on there that's not traceable because there is not any documents showing proof of approving these contracts and therefor going through legal loopholes with criminal activity enough to be within legal rights of the law just barely, if u are not educated on the fact that a written document should always be saved on both end then the consumer freely cknowldges that they are providing a set payment after there free trial legally bonded in the authorization notes to electronically submit the monthly payments directly from the consumers bank account every month without any notice before hand, your litterally saying here's a key to my house you can crash for about a month and help me out around the house and then they move in permenatley start wearing your clothes eating all of your food and asking for money because they will pay u back but really they are squatter scammers that find loopholes in the law to legally move in your territory and legally build a case aginst u and resulting them to legally take your assets because of the rights of others, $#*!in a man same $#*! it's all a scam no matter what terminology it is and a good lawer will go to bat for you if u are being screws and have legal evidence so save and document everything because we the people will not be scammed!

I singed up for the free trial but could not access the site. When I contacted them to cancel, they responded that they had no registration for me, I must not have completed the registration. A month later they deducted $14.99 from my account which appeared as a payment to Dublin Archives. I emailed telling them to refund me and cancel registration and they replied saying they have no record of my email address and could I forward more details. I tried to ring the number they provided but it's incomplete or incorrect! When I contacted my bank I was told the only way I can stop them is by cancelling my debit card which I am doing asap. I was also advised that because I didn't receive a receipt I probably wont be able to get my money back. Total scam! Only gave them 1 star because I couldn't post without it.
