25/9/2019 - UPDATE - 2 Star Review - Since my negative review of April they have reached out and I have met with them and explained my concerns. They have provided additional information however it still does not resolve my issues, though they will be working to rectify some e.g. improving the claims process. While I appreciate them reaching out it would have been great to receive this information prior to signing up and my position still stands - I will not continue with them when the plan comes to an end.
6/11/2019 - 1 Star Review - Would not recommend - look for another provider - I signed up to a fairly comprehensive and expensive 12 month plan with no deductibles and the service being provided is far from what you would expect. The claims process is very administrative (need to provide the same information multiple times on various documents) and when you need support from customer service the information provided is not consistent.
I moved from Cigna Health and regret my decision. I will not continue with April when the plan comes to an end.

I had mixed experiences during my first year with April, although they seemed (magically) to improve when it came close to my renewal. So I decided to continue as the stated cover was good. Then it went from bad to worse. I've had repeated claims refused, with no consistency of reasons, some almost at random asking for more information - then the friction set in. I asked them to follow up with the medical practioner if they wanted more specifics, which they said they would. They never did. I've been tracking my claims over the past 6 months and most of my claims are small and for outpatient services - only one claim was paid in full first time.
I wasted hours doing their follow up for them. Their staff are borderline useless and the only comment is "so sorry". I've claimed 35% of what I paid in premiums and only received about 75% of that in refunds - you do the math to see their margin. My advice is for annual Medical Insurance go somewhere else.
