Would leave 0 stars if allowed. I have 3 accounts with ancestry because I manage several DNA kits. I had ordered 2 kits back the first of the year, I got them and then when activating I get an error message, so I call in and I'm told that they will ship out 2 new ones, I wait a little over a month and nothing, I call back and they said oh it doesn't look like they were shipped let me send them again, this was in July. I am still waiting on these kits, when I called in today I am told my order was canceled and there is nothing they can do. Also I have a kit that I purchased for my father in 2018 the first one needed a retest so they sent that to me and then I send in the second one, well it never makes it to ancestry it gets lost. So they send me a 3rd one, we send it in the day after we get it. It was activated before we sent it, well it has been sitting in processing since June. Called today and was told that the order was canceled and the supervisor said that nothing can be done. This is ridiculous. They are the ones who sent out the retest oh and they tell me that the retest is under someone else's name, no it isn't its sitting in processing for the last 3 months. Ancestry, do not reply with telling me to call you all. I am tired of calling and being told one thing and it not happening.

Thank you Ancestry! With all of the information I was able to find on this site and with my DNA profile, I was able to prove, without a doubt, my Native heritage. I am now proud to say that I am finally a status Indian. I can't tell you what that means to me.

Despite cancelling, they keep taking payments ie stealing my money. I’m guessing they hope people won’t notice. Also had to cancel my debit card because of them. Fuming. Judging by some of the comments below they are using scam tactics. Reporting to ombudsman.

Ordered one DNA kit but billed for two. Ordered on June 30. Order confirmations for both appeared in my spam account on July 1. Immediately called and was assured that only one kit would be shipped and one charge would be reversed. Unfortunately today July 2 I received two e mails again in my spam file that two kits were shipped and when I checked my credit card both charges are still there. I only ordered one kit NOT two and only want to pay once NOT twice. DO NOT charge anything else to my account and reverse the charge you made in error for 108.99 as I was assured was done July 1. I will also notify my credit card of this duplicate charge.

I am so so so fustrated right now with ancentry.ca i paid for a test in january 2019 ok it came in 10 days later that what not the problem my result was after trying over and over they could not find me they send me another test the reading was the same DO YOU NO THIS IS MY 4 TEST THEY ARE SENDING ME since january 2019 like it does not make any sense at all ..OMG dont try calling because you are goin to wait for hours and if you get some one they really dont no what to say
like i'm totaly not satifie right now just want my money back because they really dont know how to passe test and honesly people just stay away..

DO NOT SIGN UP!!!! They will NEVER EVER EVER stop charging your card. You will spend HOURS on the phone on HOLD, or HUNG UP ON, and if you do get a person, you will NOT be able to understand them, - if you ask them to repeat themselves they will simply hang up on you.
In other words you will regret signing up after a few months of dealing with this company.

I ordered a monthly subscription. After using it for one day I realized I needed the deluxe membership so I upgraded and paid again. It said I would probably receive a refund for the first subscription. I did not. When I questioned why I didn't get any refund when I paid for the memberships exactly one day apart, they said memberships are non-refundable.

I sent a DNA test kit into Ancestry, they sit on it for 6 months. After I called asking for my results I was sent a message telling me my test kit was discontinued and I would need to purchase another kit. Very unhappy in the work ethics of Ancestry. In my opinion Ancestry doesn't deserve 1 star, 0 star would be more appropriate.

I ordered 2 DNA kits in December 2018 and they never arrived. My email has not been responded to and the customer service link in my order confirmation email has a certificate error and will not load. No means of contacting or receiving my order or refund. Worst non purchase I have ever made.

Very disappointed - although I keep receiving emails & updates - have tried the last 2 weeks to login - and nothing works - I get to the point where I get a code emailed - then get to change my password...says successful - now login - and then won't work....have contacted customer service -only told it should work and to clear my browser - done it many times --tried Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and Internet Explorer - different computers and my cell phone....apparently not meant to continue with the journey.

Hi I am a Canadian and at our winter home in Arizona , so i figured for something to do i would order a DNA kit , so i used my Canadian Visa card , and told them to ship it to Arizona , it started out at $99.00 and by the time i got the kit i had a $149.00 charge on my Visa Bill . Tried phoning 4 times before i finally got through told they can not do anything for me . They said because i ordered it out of the USA it does not matter if you are Canadian and use a Canadian card , It says on their Add $99.00 and ship any where you want . They are a BIG JOKE Rip OFFS Stay Clear .

They finally responded to my review. They can't be bothered to respond to my emails about where my kit is.
It's currently Jan 14th, 2019 and my kit was supposedly on it's way on Nov 24th, 2018 according to email they sent me but tracking still shows no movement on this package since that date.
They won't give me a refund and won't respond to my emails.
Worse Company I've ever dealt with.
Will definitely pass word along to anyone I know thinking of ordering from them.
Shouldn't take 7 weeks and still not be left facility.

We ordered a kit as a Christmas gift for my mother in law on December 17 expecting it to be there within 7 business days putting it on her doorstep before Christmas. Today is Jan 5th and still no package. We called the "customer service" number and waited on hold for 15 minutes before getting a live person. She couldn't find our order anywhere! She said we must have entered a different email address. She tried with our credit card number, phone number, shipping address and nothing. She put us on hold for another 10 minutes and come back saying she found it and it was returned to them because the street number wasn't listed on the package. Now I specify remember putting this order in and it want let you even go to the next line without verifying the one your on. I'm a pro online shopper just ask my husband. I check all information thouroly be for confirming. so I'm pretty upset they tried putting the blame on me. What upsets me more is that Robin had nothing to open on Christmas morning and no email or phone call was given to let us know they had our package that they accepted money for already. She said she is re sending the package and I asked her to over night it and she stated she could only send it the way it was originally paid for. This company really needs to get their communications together or at least their customer service on point if this is how they're going to conduct business. I should have just asked for a refund.

VERY VERY disappointed in this company. I purchased 2 kits for Christmas gifts and literally the price dropped significantly the next day. When I called to ask for a price adjustment they said they don’t do that. Then I asked if I can cancel my order and rebuy, I was told it is a $25 charge per kit to cancel. Absolutely a disgrace and practically robbery on their part. I will definitely NOT recommend this company. I will do the opposite and tell people that they are clearly looking for a money grab! This is VERY sneaky and does not give me confidence that they are even legitimate. Just out to steal money from unsuspecting people!

I've read a lot of reviews on this, most are people who've likely thought this would be a magic button.
1. This ancestry is a research tool, as in, you need to do the work and they are the tool. You don't buy a shovel and expect it to make a garden.
2. The DNA kit is another tool, again, so this will give possible matches but it's up to you to figure out the relation.
3. Information on living people is limited, this is due to privacy reasons and makes sense. So you need to trace back to a deceased family member to try and find links to other member trees.
a) member trees may be private, no info is shared and isn't searchable
b) member trees can be public, in which case only dead people will appear
c) a private or public tree can be shared with you so you can see details on the living, this is the decision of the person who created the tree.

1. Canadian information is significantly less than Americans, once I hit American relatives there is on average 10x the number of hints as a Canadian one. Given this fact, I think the product should cost less in Canada because it contains significantly fewer resources.
2. It's a tad clumsy to navigate, especially on large trees. You can never see the 'entire tree' at once.

Horrible experience in trying to cancel and I feel I should be refunded two months. I tried cancelling twice. Trying to call is beyond ridiculous. On hold for almost an hour.. then they hang up and you call back and you hold some more. This must be a scam!!! I have requested a refund. Would never recommend this company.

Took the 2 week trail and tried to build a tree. Impossible without knowing all your relatives both living and dead. Site will not find them for you. So why join when you are expected to do all the work.

I asked in what aspect of relatives do they find. Anyone would ask this correct if they know their parents? The male operator found this difficult to answer. WOW! They could not tell me what to expect and how they are different from 23ANDME kit!
When I asked what the price was during Christmas, which the operator did not say he was not employed at the time, did not even know the price it was two weeks ago, nor did the supervisor! Unorganized organization. I feel very concerned of how much they care for their product and customer care help.

Trying to call your "customer service" number to cancel my free trial & pending subscription... I waited on hold for 20 minutes and never spoke with anyone and was disconnected from the line... I am extremely disappointed in this service and do not think I will recommend Ancestry.ca to anyone!!!

It's a NIGHTMARE to try and cancel a subscription. I WASTED two hours trying repeatedly to cancel online and calling. If you call you will never get a person, just an automated system to enter the last four digits of your credit card and your zip code. But it comes back after several minutes of waiting and says "can't find your account" and ask you to do it again and never finds you. The online cancellation lets you get to the screen to cancel but once you click cancel for the final time it sits there with a revolving circle and does nothing else. Looks like a typical "make it really hard and they won't cancel right away and they get money".

I was very excited to order a kit as many of my friends have for my dad for xmas. I ordered my kit on Nov 23 thinking it should arrive near xmas or shortly after. I am very disappointed as it has been a month and it it still waiting to be processed in the US. I'm in Canada and can understand it would take a few weeks but I would never expect over a month. I called customer service and they said to wait a few more days. This is crazy.
My boyfriend ordered me one from a different place and I received this kit within in 3 days.
I would prefer to be refunded as I don't want the kit in 2 months.
I do not recommend ordering a kit!!

My sister and I both had our DNA tested, she came back 100% french and I was all over the map. Not impressed.
