The hotel emailed me saying that they have cancelled my booking together with this email from hotelbeds.
We are contacting you to inform about the very recent cease of trading of our mutual customer Amoma, which is publicly announced at their website amoma
As you may understand, before this regrettable situation, following general market practice in such situations and our T&C we have no other option but to proceed with the cancelation of all the services related with Amoma with arrival date of 14th September until the 16th of September. Thereafter, on Monday the 16th of September we will proceed with the cancellation of all remaining bookings. Here you may find attached the initial cancellation booking list.
Please inform customers about this regrettable situation and, in the event that you still have the ability to accept the guest into your hotel, you should charge the prevailing rate of the day direct to the guest.

I've booked 3 nights in Hotel Rum Budapest and then got an email saying that Amoma have ceased and ...basically 'good luck'!!!!!!!! I rang the hotel who were very polite and are looking into the matter but are saying that my booking has been cancelled with them. I'm still waiting to find out whats happening but I imagine Ive lost my £255 but hoping that as the hotel chose to work with this company they will honour the booking. I've not been on holiday in over a year and a half and to think I'd have to pay out again to stay in the hotel sickens me.

Two months ago, I book with Amoma, pay in full and receive a voucher for my hotel. Of course, Amoma never paid the hotel, so the hotel will not honor the voucher. The criminals at Amoma simply took my money, ceased operations and that's that. Now I am out a lot of money AND I have nowhere to stay.

I paid for a hotel in June for a holiday in October 2019. Paid in full £522 for a non refundable rate.
I received an email yesterday to say Amoma has ceased trading.
Rang hotel . They say they had a reservation that was cancelled the day after (in June) it was booked. The hotel received no money so Amoma has basically stolen my money & I have no hotel.
So Amoma knew in June that they were going bankrupt & announced only yesterday that they have ceased trading. They made sure they robbed plenty people first .. I’m
disgusted by this

The whole hotel booking process was quick without any problems, the hotel was very beautiful, good location but the cleanliness leaves much to be desired, which is not our surprise when we got to the room and the toilet was full of crap, dirty washbasin .. I don't think they even cleaned the bathroom, it wasn't pretty to look at .... and the staff weren't very friendly either.

Paid the company in May 2019 for a travel in November. Just received an email in Sep letting me know they are no longer in business. called the hotel and they have no reservation for me. Now I am out several hundreds of dollars. This is absurd. I will be pursuing legal action.

Just got back from a trip to Switzerland what was wonderful...
I used booking. Com for all of my stays except for the last 5 nights in Montreux.
The grand Excelsior Di Lac....WAS A very nice place in its day. It was built in 1907.
Not much in way of updates have been done, but is has a 5 star rating with the prices to go along with it.
When I got there... something seemed a little off. I saw clinic signs and it was told to me it was a “wellness clinic” Botox and cosmetic procedures.
Well... when I stepped off on the wrong floor by accident I found out it was very different than described to me.
One floor of that hotel is being used as a hospital/rehab. I spoke with one of the workers there and she told me that it was also used as a long-term rehab and/or assisted-living. My pictures prove this and I sent them to Amoma.
Their attitude was they didn’t investigate the hotels but rather took their website information as the gospel. I sent them the pictures so they could see for themselves I was not joking and it was for real and then I never got a response from them. While it may be perfectly legal to operate a hotel with a floor dedicated to be a hospital, I think their website should reflect this information and it shouldn’t be a secret. I feel the public should know this information upfront and have the opportunity to choose for themselves if they wanna stay in a hotel that is doing this. No resolution or call back from this company.
Glad they are out of business and I truly am sorry for those who have lost money! This was almost me

I have deleted the 2 one star reviews from yesterday and the day before. Like I said in my original review, I have booked many rooms through Amoma and never had an issue until this situation. After my reviews, Amoma has issued me a full refund on my case. I appreciate that Amoma really cares about reviews left online and about making a customer feel satisfied with a resolution. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I will continue to book my hotels through Amoma.
After much back and forth, countless emails and phone calls, I received an email today stating my refund was issued on original payment method. I honestly feel if I would have not left a review on Trustpilot I would not have gotten a resolution. I am satisfied with the resolution.
THIS IS UNREAL! JUST AS i THOUGHT THAT EVERYTHING WAS FIXED i JUST GOT THIS EMAIL:
We kindly inform you that when trying to process the refund of the remaining 69,72 USD to you, our accounting department has encountered an issue and we are now required to make a bank transfer in order to provide you the amount. The initial 20 USD that was confirmed to you yesterday has been processed correctly, but when we have tried to process the remaining 69,72 USD we have encountered an issue.
In order for us to provide you the remaining amount of 69,72 USD, we require the following banking information from your side:
1.Account holder's name
2.Your IBAN number which should have 27 characters.
(example: FR14 2004 1010 0505 0001 3021 606)
3.Your SWIFT number (example: BNPAFRPPXXX)
4.Routing number (example:Arizona 122105155)
5.An official scanned letter from the bank (or a copy of the bank statement) that contains the account holder's identity with the IBAN number, the SWIFT code and routing number.
We will make the transfer as soon as we receive the above information. Please allow 10 to 12 working days (depending on your bank) for the amount to be visible in your account.
HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO REFUND THE $20 FROM YESTERDAY BUT, TODAY THEY CAN'T REFUND THE $69.52!!!? THEY EXPECT ME TO GO TO THE BANK AND GET A LETTER! I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR 2 MONTHS, I REFUSE TO WASTE ANOTHER MINUTE OF TIME ON THIS ISSUE. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BANK ACCOUNT, ACCOUNTING NEEDS TO TRY AGAIN OR ISSUE ME A VOUCHER FOR FUTURE BOOKING, I COULD ALSO PROVIDE A DIFFERENT DEBIT CARD NUMBER TO ISSUE REFUND. I NEED THIS RESOLVED TODAY. I WANT TO BE DONE WITH THIS.
Thanks for your response. I emailed back a few hours ago with my best contact telephone number. I look forward to a call. Thanks

Woke up to find the same email everyone else did stating this company has "ceased trading " and our reservations will likely be canceled and contact our hotel. Well, we contacted the hotel only to find they had NOT canceled our reservation, only because they had never RECEIVED our reservation that was confirmed by AMOMA, even though AMOMA billed our account for $617.00 within 24 hours of our reservation being made. We made the reservation for November 2019 back in May 2019, plenty of time for AMOMA to have processed and paid the hotel for our reservation. We called the hotel in San Francisco this morning only for them to tell us there was never any reservation made in our name AND they didn't know AMOMA and didn't do business with them. This is a very well known and high end hotel in the Bay area. Needless to say, we still needed a hotel and went ahead and reserved again, but now we're out the $617.00 AMOMA has stolen from us, as well as having to pay $832.00 for the exact same reservation that we made directly through the hotel this time. I now know they are a Swiss based company and am not sure if legal action is possible as we live in the U.S., but if so.....class action lawsuit. I'm completely disgusted with this company. They obviously knew this was coming, this type of thing doesn't just happen overnight. I'm sticking with Orbitz from now on or better yet...I'll just contact the hotel directly even if it means paying a higher rate. Better that than being scammed!

Fellow victims, go straight to your bank NOW and get money reverse back to u.

Please, take time to read...
On September 14th, 2019, I received a cease trading notification from a no-reply mail of AMOMA.com.
On September 11th, this website accepted my payment of a hotel room booking in Paris (75) of a 214 euro amount. The latter was debited from my bank account on September 13th which is the same day as the termination of its activity.
Information taken from the hotel, I was told that a cancellation of the booking of my room received at the hotel on the evening of September 13th.
The mail from AMOMA.com ends up this way: « For those who have booked rooms via our website:
Contact the reserved hotel to inquire about the provision of the service.
Contact your payment institution or your travel insurance. »
Shortly... we cash in the money, cancel the sale of our product and kindly advise you to see with your own insurances to get some compensations. I therefore informed my spouse (Retired Police Officer in Monaco) who got a contact with the DGCCRF (01 40 04 04 04). He was advised to report the facts by referral to DEFR (located in Switzerland) to initiate preceedings against AMOMA.
The DEFR agent added as the penal offence is notable here and there's no way to get any contact with AMOMA or any intermediary, the action will go on record within 48 hours from Monday, September 16th.
Thanks for reading me.

I am now in contact with Mastercard (travel insurance) hope this case is covered. First time run in such a bad situation.

We arrived at the hotel in Rhodes, we checked in normally and then after few hours they told us they cancelled all bookings made by AMOMA and if we want to stay we need to pay directly to the hotel. After that we can ask for the money from AMOMA, which is ridiculous, we already paid once.

Robbed from our honeymoon
Dreadful commercial practices from a business which lied to its customers about the service provided. They simply cannot run a genuine and profitable business and the customers paid the ultimate penalty for that.
We booked a 6 nights all inclusive with AMOMA at Orka Sunlife Resort in Oludeniz, Turkey. We never did all inclusive but this was for our honeymoon.
The night we arrived at the hotel for checking in, around 1:30 am, we were told that AMOMA had cancelled our booking 2 days ago. We were in absolute shock since there had been no notofocation from AMOMA of such practice and my wife just could not hold hear tears back. The hotel offered us one night but could not confirm further room availability intil the next morning when the reservations team was back in work. We paid additional £130 for that 1 night and confirmed that morning that the hotel was fully booked. The reservations team helped us finding another hotel and tried over 10 hotels to find us accommodation. Eventually we had to move to different hotel and paid again for our stay.
We are distraught and simply not able to enjoy our honeymoon.
Disgracefully and certainly there will be individuals liable for a civil prosecution.
