My husbands SIM card did not allow phone calls , we were unable to call the amigo off in New York to have them work through the phone network problem , we even emailed them from the amigo website to try to get them to correct the problem. We received no response, no phone call or return email.
Upon returning the SIM cards to the office I mentioned that one of the cards was unusable to make phone calls and the data was horrible (took forever for things to download) the person in the office did not offer any refund compensation .
I will not use them again .!

We were told that we just need to plug in the sim card and everything will work . That was not exactly how it happened. We needed several calls to customer service until everything worked. They were very helpful but it was a frustrating experience not having the service we were promised at the right time.

This is the second time I used Amigo. The first time our phones stopped functioning properly. Yakov and his wife did help us fix them after many communications back and forth and much effort on my part to finally reach someone at Amigo. I wanted to give them another chance. Yakov did make sure that I received my phone in a timely manner. But once again, my phone stopped working properly after a few days. I had correctly followed the instructions regarding setup and use to no avail. After much effort trying to contact someone in the company to help (through their website and email) someone finally contacted me and no matter how many times I explained that I followed all of his instructions initially on setup and after he contacted me nothing worked. I was first told it was Verizon's problem and my phone should work once it was corrected (even though my SIM card was from a Panama network). When I explained that it still isn't working properly and I can't text much of my family, I was brushed off rather rudely. My phone did not function properly for the duration of the trip.
When I returned home and tried to contact CS, in order to return the phone as well as discuss the problems directly, the phone just kept ringing and no one picked up. I tried a different department and left a few voicemails over the next few days as well as emails, to no avail. I finally returned the phones through someone who one of the owners knew personally. The experience was very unpleasant. The company as a whole is unprofessional and the phones antiquated. The one bright spot is Yakov.but I will never use them again nor recommend their service. Next time I will use my carrier's plan instead.

Overall Very good. However, both SIM Cards did not work "out of the box" and required several calls to customer service to properly activate in order to work properly. Secondly, when trying to reach customer service multiple calls were required and regardless of the day, or time of day, it was nearly impossible to get someone to pick up. Additionally, their on-line chat NEVER worked. Once you did get someone on the phone, the problem was quickly resolved.

I was excited to learn about Amigo and their reasonable prices and options! Unfortunately, my experience of their service was anything but exciting. We ordered our phone and Sim card on fairly short notice, but they told us no problem, it would be to us in two days. After paying for expedited service, it arrived in four days, we had to pick it up from the post office the morning of our departure. Fortunately we didn't have to leave town before the PO opened.
Once we arrived in Israel, the phone worked fine. The Sim card did not. At all. I tried reseting the card. A dozen times. Restarting my phone. Made sure it was set to global networks and everything else their instructions said to do. Never worked. Couldn't call. Couldn't text. Nothing.
I was leading a group of 18 people. Never had a chance to call them and figure out what the problem was. They charged me for the full amount. Not a happy traveler. I'll never use them again.

AMIGO was a pleasure to deal with! The phones worked well, the price was very fair. If you are traveling and don't want ANY headaches with your phone - I highly recommend using AMIGO.

I am a returning customer of Amigo and have had great experience with them in the past. This latest time however I experienced a major challenge. I inserted the Israeli SIM card and attempted to make a phone call and received a recording that the number was reported stolen. I tried to call Amigo (on Sunday afternoon NY time) and only got voice message saying they were closed. Due to the time difference, I could not reach them until Monday evening, Israel Time. Apparently was a very simple fix, but it left me without the use of a phone for two days. Yes, I have Skype, but the purpose of getting this SIM card was so I was not tied to the hotel's WiFi. I will still come back and use Amigo again, but will be sure that the number is active next time.

Paid for call forwarding. Was given the wrong sprint code to call forward. The system did not work. Left message with amigo and mid week Simone turned call forwarding on for me. Since I had the wrong code had to call amigo when I returned to undo call forwarding. After following amigo instructions it still didn’t work. Called sprint who had blocked it and they spent half a morning turning the call forwarding off. There must be an easier way to do this.

I've used Amigo's services multiple times and in multiple countries. Each experience has been wonderful! This past time I had to make a last minute international trip (I found out that I had to travel 3000 miles with less than 24 hours notice!) and Amigo was able to get me set up with a phone and SIM card really quickly.
If your traveling, you've got to go with Amigo!

I rented a broadband modem for use in Paris for six days. I have in the past rented many such a modem from Amigo's competitors for use in Israel and in Italy. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a broadband modem. It work fine for a day or two, then slowed down to the point where it was too frustrating to use. I wrote to Amigo support. They responded with a suggestion to try. I tried it and it did not help. I wrote back saying as much but I did not get any further responses from Amigo support. I did not use the modem for the rest of my stay in Paris. I can't see myself using Amigo again.
