The below issues follow much headache, frustration and anger during the previous 3+ months with AmeriGlide.
Dear Sir / Ma'am,
I am writing this letter as formal notification of mechanical issues and incorrect equipment provided with our recently installed "Curved Stair Lift." After much frustration and dissatisfaction with the overall experience with AmerGlide's customer service beginning in early January, the stairlift was finally installed on April 22 – April 23,2021, by your contractor Delstal. The following are technical/mechanical issues that we have experienced the same night of installation.
· Upon completing installation, the Delstal installer/technician, Jim Vandehey, tried using the two remote controls that were included with the unit. After much trouble shooting, Mr. Vandehey could not get either remote to work. He informed us that these were not the correct remote controls.
· Mr. Vandehey was not able to properly secure the frame/track to the tile floor where the docking/recharging station is located because there were no tile and/or cement screws included. Mr. Vandehey explained that this should have been noted and included with the original measurements. My concern is that the track is not firmly secured to the floor and will result in shifting of the unit while in use and potential injury.
· The chair sporadically works when trying to use it. The armrest will correctly read "Platinum," however, upon sitting and putting any weight on the chair, it changes to "Final Limit" thus making it inoperable. I was stuck upstairs for over an hour while my wife tried to troubleshoot. We called Mr. Vandehey and he advised removing the plastic protective plate used to safely cover the wires and electrical components located inside the seat. This did not work, and we had to move and readjust the wires until the armrest read "Platinum." This appears to be a design/manufacturing flaw and very obvious the unit does not work correctly.
· We were mailed a recall notice from AmeriGlide that included multiple screws and bolts with multiple pages of extremely technical instructions. Mr. Vandehey read the instructions and could not make sense of it himself.
These issues need to be addressed immediately. With my current and extensive medical disabilities, I do not feel comfortable for my safety with recall not being fixed and that I will get stranded either upstairs or downstairs for hours until someone can get me down. I expect a response back from AmeriGlide with further information regarding corrective actions. Photos have been taken and can be produced upon request.

The only reason this company gets a 2 stars is because the employees I interacted with were very nice and the installer was very nice. The price is great and if the correct parts arrive customers should be all set. The company is OK if you don't need the stair climber quickly. We paid for our units at the beginning of January and the unit was shipped to us and received around January 20th. Installer could not come until February 17th. One of the parts was unusable, and the installer will help us to finish the job over the phone when the part arrives... however Ameriglide had me calling the installation company several times and the installation company says Ameriglide has the part. Went through several weeks of that nonsense. March 11th and I still don't have the part. WE have needed to cancel several doctors appointments for our family member because we can't move them in and out of the house. I have been patient for two months and currently have a $5000 unusable unit. Ridiculous!

I have a request instead of a review...at this point. I would like to request that someone from AmeriGlide come and evaluate the chair and how my husband uses it. I believe you, AmeriGlide, can go one step further and provide my husband with some education re: positioning, etc. Please let me know if my request can be honored. Thank you. Susan K. Underwood

I paid to have the stairlift delivered and installed for my dad and I was told I had to measure which I am terrible at and when the installers came the measurements were wrong and they guys left and we still dont have our stairlift installed and my father has to sleep downstairs in his chair.
If I'm paying $2600 I want it measured and installed ASAP.

The salesperson was very helpful. The price was reasonable. Delivery came a little earlier than expected which was great.
My only issue was getting the box into the house.
Would definitely buy here again.

Awful Customer service. Product was actually purchased from Atlas- offered no tech support. Asked for ship dates and was given the run-around multiple times. Called 3 people Joe/Tres/Chris and was not given a straight answer. Customer is very upset with me and Ameriglide takes ZERO accountability.

Order a inside lift from Sean, parts came damaged , he pawned us off on another number , called that number was pawned off on the manufacturer , manufacture said to contact who we purchased from , fixed damaged parts ourselves , missing cap for tower , contacted Sean again , was given two numbers to call , no customer service at all , they don’t care when parts are damaged or missing , also came with no instructions other then assembling the tower( was a tall lift) spent hours researching on how to install
Cause contacting Ameriglide is about as useful as shoving things in your own ass, terrible company after sale is made

Overall I was impressed with Ameriglide and the quality of the product. It was delivered promptly following my order with nearly everything intact. I did the install myself, which was pretty straight forward, but the instructions could be better. For instance, my stairs required a short section in addition to two standard lengths. It was cut correctly, but they did not tell me where it was intended to be installed, so I put it on the top. After my installation was nearly complete, it was obvious the short section should have been placed in the middle. This was not a major issue, and was recoverable, but it would have been nice had they explained it up front. In addition, my stairs included the hinged bottom so it was pre-wired. Unfortunately, it was wired for two regular length sections and was too short for my stairs so I had to splice in wires to make it long enough. They eventually sent me the extensions, but didn't tell me they were coming, so I had the job done by the time they arrived. The last issue was the pads for the footrest stops are really cheap quality and fell off after only a couple of uses. Overall the product is top quality and works really well. If they could only tighten up a couple of these minor items, it would be a great product!

This is a life saver for me. I am waiting to receive a hip replacement and also have a bad knee. This chair has helped me get my wash up and down to the laundry room. And supplies from downstairs in basement. Not to mention I have 6 cats in basement to take care of. Installation was quick. And the installers were very pleasant and worked fast.
Thank You.

I hate to write this because I don’t know if the lift is good or not. My unit is in the hallway on the floor waiting for some one to come and install it. It came 2 days ago and they don’t seem to want install it. I have called multiple times and the word is they are trying to get someone. My thought is do not get their installers and get a local handyman to install it.

Mom is going up and down the stairs safely now because of AmeriGlide. Her chair lift was installed by a caring installer who took all of her concerns into account. Our sales representative was kind , helpful and patient. We did have some delivery issues, but they were finally taken care of.

The vertical platform lift was delivered on a pallet with a truck that included a hydraulic lift, which was used to lower the unit to the ground. The driver had a pallet mover and used that to move the unit into my mother's garage exactly where I wanted it. The assembly instructions and video were easy to understand - I had only a couple of questions for clarification which were cleared up with a phone call.
My mother (age 92) has been using the unit now for 4 1/2 months. It works perfectly. It has been such a blessing. Before, using the stairs, her hips hurt painfully. Now she has the desired mobility without any pain. My sister, my mother, and myself are so happy. The entire process was very pleasant. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

I bought an AmeriGlide chair lift for my parents. It was shipped in three boxes with Fedex tracking, so I could be there when it arrived. It arrives in three boxes, total weight of all three boxes is 175 lbs. It arrived on a Friday. The install was scheduled on Tuesday for Thursday. The installer called ahead and gave me 90 minutes lead time to get there. He was professional and courteous. The install took about 90 minutes. He also took the boxes and vacuumed the stairs, leaving everything clean. The Chair Lift works as soon as it is installed. The installer stayed with us to show us how to pivot the chair at the top of the stairs so you are exiting forward, as opposed to sideways. My parents are very pleased with the chair. It greatly improves the quality of their lives.
