I bought an item from Amazon marketplace. It was not delivered. I made a claim for a refund. Amazon accepted my claim and wrote to say they would pay me within 5 days. Three weeks have elapsed, no sign of money. I have called them twice only to get fobbed off by with apologies. The price of the item I bought has gone up 50 percent since I bought it. If I do not get refund I will need to pay interest on my credit card.

Nothing is perfect, especially when ordering from them almost every day. But they have the BEST customer service in the online retail industry by far! I have bought £1000 laptops that I returned without questions in the 14 days; have got warranty replacements or refunds many times even after a year (2 year warranties), got good will offers when bad problems happened, etc.

Have had my ups and downs with Amazon over the years.
Recently (2018-2019) they appear to have listened to their customers and 'upped their game'. Courteous customer service, swift delivery, replacements or refunds. Prime Video offers more than Netflix, although some items are rental, this works out financially better when looking at quality vs cost. Linking in the BFI film collections (many others I've yet to explore) is excellent for movie lovers.
Where other companies ignore their customers Amazon are doing something right :)
Thanks Amazon ..... keep up the great work.

This site is a big help to every people around the world. People from different countries can buy products from the United States or vice versa. It also gives opportunities to small-time entrepreneurs to market and sell their products. Others also can make a living by making Amazon as their medium to look for products that they can resell. A big hats off to the developer of this site.

I love amazon but this new protocol of asking OAPs for ID when buying my alcohol is ridiculous. Would have given them 5 stars otherwise.

The only thing that lets Amazon down is their cardboard packaging as it is not secure. The ends come out and your purchase rolls out of the package. However, yesterday it rained horrifically and the parcel was delivered to our house whilst unavoidably out. They could have possibly posted it through the front door but our new letterbox is a nightmare for biting back, so they thoughtfully used an empty, but very strong, plastic bag and sealed the parcels inside this to protect from the rain whilst being left in my outside safe place. I thought that this was a really considerate thing for the delivery person to do. I wish all deliveries were handled that considerately. Thank you!

Amazon have introduced a Draconian and Absurd policy, by supercilious policy makers. Not 'customer centric' as they imagine.
Amazon have changed their policy from 'Challenge 25' for age restricted items to a blanket 'produce valid ID with date of birth'.
Ridiculous - I am 62 years of age and look it - I see no reason to produce my birth certificate to show my age ! Supermarkets and other companies that deliver to home, use discretion and common sense !
I have yet to buy a bottle of wine at a supermarket and be asked by a cashier at a check-out (usually much younger then me) to produce my birth certificate !
I ASK ALL AMAZON CUSTOMERS TO CONSIDER BOYCOTTING any alcohol age restricted items.
In my experience you can get the same cheaper elsewhere. and note the price has an 'Uplift' cost added to cover their delivery cost.
Well done Amazon - let 1984 dystopia prevail

In the last 5 years or so of using Amazon on a regular basis, I've had perhaps 2 issues with sellers, which Amazon customer service have been very helpful in sorting out.
A downside is that before buying I do tend to select the seller, directly from Amazon if possible, rather than pressing the "buy now" as you'll find there are a lot more sellers from outside the UK, which affects delivery times greatly.
I am still impressed in the speed that I receive most of items, as it's usually within 1-2 days and I really like those Amazon lockers, as I'm not home very often.
Overall, good service.

I USE AMAZON ALL THE TIME IT'S THE BEST OVER ALL DEAL ANYWHERE, FOR THAT SMALL MONTHLY FEE I GET DELIVERY'S FREE AND MOSTLY NEXT DAY, I CAN WATCH SO MANY VIDEOS & MUSIC FOR NOTHING EXTRA WITH PRIME. I GET SMART WATER DELIVERED ALL THE TIME AND OFTEN GET PANTRY STUFF TOO. WITH SO MANY DEALS THAT I WISH I COULD USE MORE STUFF THAN I ACTUALLY NEED ! :) WHEN I JOINED I GOT A CREDIT CARD THAT GIVES ME POINTS & £10 BACK EVERY NOW AND AGAIN, I JUST WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO USE THE STUFF THAT SO FAR I HAVE NOT GOT AROUND TO USING BUT IF I DID IT WOULD NOT COST ME ANYTHING MORE ! SO, SO GOOD.

I received an email from Amazon telling me that they couldn't publish my review and to adhere to the following rules. My review read as follows:
"I didn't like the fact that they arrived loose in a plastic bag, which was torn enough to let batterys out into the metal mail-box, not good. I found the twenty OK but the practice is unprofessional, scruffy and could be dangerous. How do I store them now? I will not be buying from this seller again"
Leaving batteries loose anywhere is dangerous, there is the possibility of them shorting, getting hot and starting a fire, it has happened, it is documented, where's the harm in pointing that out.

I use amazon all the time and think they are great. Good options and good prices. I had a problem with the very late delivery of an item around Christmas last year and they immediately refunded the product and sent another one for next day delivery. Very pleased with my experience of Amazon.

Amazon have new criteria for delivery of alcohol.
They need not only to see your id but they require the DOB.
This I believe is excessive collection of private data and is not in line with the GDPR data minimisation policy.
I appreciate that they need to ensure that alcohol is purchased and delivered to someone of legal age.
I am 66yrs and surely there can be no mistake as to my suitability.
Needless to say I shall no longer be purchasing alcohol from Amazon

I have been using Amazon a few years now, and their customer service is excellent.
I trust amazon to buy from, as if something does go wrong, they step in straight away with a refund or exchange.
Also the products always come properly packaged and I've always found them to as described.

Product reviews are a subscription service.
Bought an £8.99 book, wanted to review it; not eligible. You MUST spend £40 EVERY YEAR to be eligible to leave reviews on genuine Amazon purchases, which means it is an annual paid subscription. Oh, and Prime doesn't count.
Customer services refused to escalate or answer my questions about this. An agent wrote:
I've reviewed your Amazon.co.uk account and I see you haven't made at least £40 in purchases. Prime subscriptions and promotional discounts don't count toward the £40 minimum purchase requirement for submitting community content.
I understand that I haven't been able to address your concerns to your satisfaction. However, we won't be able to offer any additional insight or action on these matters.
Once you've met this purchase requirement and your order has shipped, you'll be able to contribute a review.
What a crap policy, trying to force me to spend more money.

Issue with a faulty Garmin watch. Amazon told me to contact Garmin directly who were extremely unhelpful and lack any customer service. I went back to Amazon who very quickly and efficiently resolved the issue.
