I went on the 17th August. Let me say that the food way too pricey so let me get that off my chest. Now for the good part the staff I fell in love with they really made you feel welcome the interaction was amazing. I was a bit poorly but they were so friendly I forgot how poorly I was. its a shame that some entitle people (public) were pushy and rude. They put on a brave face and smiled. i was gutted i couldnt stay longer both my daughter and i cant wait to do it again. We stayed at a holiday inn and for the money we paid, with leisuretime we paid £139. For coach, hotel, breakfast and 2 days on the park. We are definitely going again. Both my daughter have been going since she was 7 she is now 25 she is an anxiety sufferer, for the 1st time in a while a smile with calmness came over her. As a mum i cant rate enough for alton towers thanks guys

Absolute waste of money!
Completely dirty and disgusting, the smell of dirty nappies and sick in CBeebies land was too much to handle so we didn’t stay long in there.
Spent 7 hours there and went on around 8 rides, mainly the ones which were less waiting time.
Toilets were an absolute disgrace. Staff rude and minimal, it concerned me most rides had one member of staff attending to them. Health and safety has gone down hill. Hardly any ticket offices on entry, massive amounts of people trying to get in spending a huge amount of money.
Please don’t bother, go to Lego land or gullivers world.

I visited Alton Towers At the beginning of September and stayed at the Alton Towers Hotel with family.
I was very dismayed with the cleanliness of the room. Long strands of hair on the quilt, dead spider and cobweb in the corner of the window. There was even a very long spiders web, stretching from the window right across to the adjacent wall, which was hanging over my bed. The web even had dust sitting on it, which proves how long it had been there. There was also brown crumbs from a muffin, which they serve in the restaurant. The crumbs were left on the window ledge and on the carpet next to my bed.
I reported it, as I could not sleep with the web hanging over my head. A cleaner came and used a feather duster, I might add!! to get rid of the web. The room needed to be dusted properly and it is evident that they change the beds and give it a very quick clean. The remainder of the mess was left. It was very late at night, I felt very uncomfortable in the room
I tried calling, to speak with a Manager about the room but nobody was available. I spoke with a Supervisor, who conducted herself appallingly and then rudely put the phone down.
I was going to book Scarefest for 10 people, but after the disgusting customer service, Merlin will not be getting our money. All the good Managers have since left Alton Towers. Customer Service has gone right down.

Wow this place is shocking.
I can’t believe they get away with having such a poor customer services function and sub standard staff working at their locations, yet demand such extortionate prices.
I pointed out that these issues:-
- Queuing time at check in
- lack of dinner reservations availability
- keycard that didn’t work
- tv that didn’t work in hotel room
- uncleanliness in hotel room
- they gave 2 towels and one set of toiletries for a family of 4? Go figure
- the iron didn’t work in the room.
- for some reason they gave us a room furthest from the reception not sure why despite my mobility issues
- unavailability if staff at the resort
- staff who were out of their depth and had limited customer facing experience - and no management on hand to support them.
- loud neighbours due to the thin walls.
Following a complaint - I received no level of compensation or gesture of goodwill, I received no acknowledgement of any , in fact I was told I was at fault for not advising them of problems - which is utter tripe as I did advise them of these issues continually throughout my stay.
What’s the most disappointing is the response I received was pathetic ‘we’re sorry’ which reminds me of when you are standing on a train platform delayed for 6 hours and the train company advise you that they are ‘sorry for the inconvenience caused’. At least with the trains there is a delay replay scheme! I just wasted 48 hours of my life and a few hundred quids worth of money on a disappointment.

Visited today 02/09/19, two adults and two children.. we used the vouchers and paid £104 with parking, I’d be more than happy with this if we were able to get on more than one ride ! The queue into the park via car took over an hour and my car overheated :( every time we tried to go on the smiler after the woman said the queue was open, it would then be closed again and we’d stood there for over an hour for nothing. Queue times for rides were 90+ minutes and fast track were no better at 70 minutes. The park was massively overcrowded and clearly over booked. What should be an amazing experience was just stress and disappointment due to Merlins greed in my opinion
I used to love this place but definitely won’t be going back anytime soon

Great in the old days.. ( my opinion ) how - ever.went today 20.09.19.
car park £6.00..scandalous. ..like something out of the wildweSt to get out of at turfing out time which was 4 bells .There was nobody to assist in the safe exit of hundreds of cars..The park was open 10 am to last ride 4pm not value for money considering the price of the ticket .It seems like the park is geared up to fleece as much cash as possible in the short time it was open.unfortunately it's not my cup of tea and if you want value for money get yourself to Euro Disney Paris the park is open till really late and great fantastic rides. ..Alton Towers has some great history and Fantastic immaculate Gardens unfortunately there are not enough rides available for the sheer volume of people ..

I went to Alton Towers Theme Park on 23 July 2019, and although some of the roller coasters broke down in 32 degree heat, the day was rescued by the outstanding staff.
3-5 rides broke down, and the park was very busy, so the ride staff had their work cut out.
Although they were suffering from the hot conditions in the ride areas, and obvious frustration of the guests at some queue lengths they stayed professional courteous and smiling throughout.
A special mention goes out to Ben on the entrance gate on 'Rita, and Maria on the 'Smiler boarding gate.
I went on both rides several times, and they not only remembered me, but I felt, bent over backwards to accommodate guests requests, and keep their cool under pressure.
They, in particular made what could have been a stressful, frustrating day a joyous one.
Staff also handed out water on queue lines, and helped when people were feeling unwell.
Many rides suffered in the heat, and the day could have been ruined, but the staff made it all worth while.
I will be returning to Alton Towers again in the next couple of weeks, and can't wait.
Best park in the UK, hands down.

I’d give -1 if I could! Horrendous experience from start to finish. Overpriced and overrated. Queuing for way too long. Park was scruffy and in dire need of updating. Don’t waste your money, Merlin and co obviously aren’t reinvesting it where it’s needed!

Fantastic time and absolutely worth the money. We took our 2, soon to be 3 year old and we all had a great fun time. The Cbeebies hotel was a great place to stay with excellent attention to detail in all areas. We had a Postman Pat bedroom which was decorated really well. Entertainment was brilliant with lots to do right up until bedtime with all our little girl’s favourite characters. Breakfast was really nice too.
Cbeebies land in the park also had lots to do paired with the kids rides dotted around the rest of the park. Overall we had a really fun stay. I read reviews that it was over priced but with 2 day park tickets for us all in the price we think it was a good deal!!

Contacted them with a complaint after staying at the Alton towers hotel and nobody even bothered contacting me back. They couldn’t care less in my opinion once they’ve had your money. Unbelievably arrogant and I will take it further.

Very disappointed with Alton Towers as well as their customer service. Booked a hotel through Alton Towers which is called Best Western Tillington Hall hotel where i had booked 4 family rooms for 4 adults and 11 children the reasons are as follows:
. Rooms very hot
. No fridges in any of the rooms
. Tv with picture but no sound
. Sink tap continuously leaking
. 2 phones not working (cord pulled out)
. All rooms very dated
. Went to Cbeebies land and a member of staff took my phone off me as she thought i was using it for a photo where as i was switching the torch off.
Told Alton Towers all about this and all i got was a sorry and i was supposed to get in touch with the hotel about the problems i had where i think shouldn’t be the case because i booked the rooms with Alton Towers. Really disappointed with the amount of money i spent and me and my family members not being able to enjoy ourselves.

This was ok but on the day we went it was "too hot" to operate the cable car so had to walk a lot. the staff were rather rude as the cable car was in use with people on it but we were told it was closed.

Took my near 3 year old daughter here on 31/8/19. Atrial was fine, went straight to CBeebies land where we went on a few attractions first. We then proceeded to go onto a attractiob which required children to be 0.9 metres or taller. My daughter is small for a 3 year old but is 0.9 metres. The jobsworth attendants on this attraction said she wasn’t, proceeding to tell me she was a millimetre off going in. Not being funny but when you’ve paid £56 each to go into a park just for a toddler and get turned away for something so pathetic, it’s highly annoying. The staff were rude when I questioned them, and I saw several other children going in who were much younger. Didn’t bother trying any more as the queues were massive and went on what we could. Rides we could go on we’re fine but long to get on. Would recommend getting heels for toddlers!

Wow!l Friendly staff, from getting on the monorail, guest services, staff on the gate and all around the park, never been to a place where everyone is so friendly and helpful, made a fabulous weekend making memories.

Myself and my partner visited the park on Friday 21st June 2019 and I had a special pass (ride access pass) due to a condition which means I am unable to stand in queue's for long periods at a time. I have to say, the staff were AMAZING with me and everyone else who needed extra care! I could not have asked for a better service and to see them look after everyone the way they did, offer assistance and ensure we all had the best experience possible was beautiful. Thank you, we will definitely be visiting again soon. You should be proud of your staff! :)

Terrible customer services.
There was a problem with the alton Towers website.
So even though they didn’t except my booking, they took over £4000.00 from my account, for all the failed bookings. I did eventually manage to book 3 rooms over the phone. Georgina From customer services Said she was keen to resolve the situation and would phone to discus it with me, then changed her mind and closed the case. She said because I had eventually managed to book and redeemed by booking at the hotel, the case was now closed. We spend a lot of money each year at Alton Towers, and that’s the way they treat loyal guests. All I can say is, Just do not be surprised when they chose not to return. Absolutely appalling .
It’s easy to keep people happy, it’s also easy to lose them.

Absolutely disgusted. It's cost me £52 today to send my 2 teenage sons here on a school trip today for one son to get on one ride and the other managed 2! Up to 3 hours wait for the rides. Both boys responses on return to my question of "Have you had a nice time" are not appropriate to put on here! Would not recommend and they will certainly not be partaking in any more school trips to Alton Towers or visits with anyone in future!

Had a lovely weekend with the family, yes it’s a bit expensive but no more than any others. The hotel was lovely and the park was clean. The kids had a great time and that’s what matters ... anyone we had contact with were always cheerful and helpful ... we’ve been going for years and we’ll keep going because the kids love it.

Visited Saturday 10 August 2019 with 16 family members of various ages. The weather was atrocious resulting in some rides closing for health and safety reasons. This didn’t dampen our spirits because, there’s so much more to do and see. One criticism is the lack of facilities to cater for people bringing their own food. Why not put the lockers near picnic tables. I had made a picnic for everyone however eating it was a big problem, with the rain, we all stood under a small canopy trying to eat a sandwich, it was not good at all. We did come across one place undercover, but that was when we were leaving and no where near any locker facilities.

Came here with my girlfriend and oh my lord the queues! It was unbearably hot Saturday so I'm not sure what I expected tbh. Water was expensive to buy and the food wasn't very good and very expensive.

Just back after a 2 day visit, staying in the new Stargazing pods. This added to the adventure and my son loved it. Yes, the queues are long for the rides at time, but I didn't mind. You do need a couple of day's to get round everything, but no complaints. Loved it 😊

Alton towers used to be an amazing place to visit, not so much now, this year I decided to stay with my son at one of their hotels... right I'm going to keep this as short and simple as I can..... first night in hotel my son and I both ended up with really bad diarrhea, I hear you say must have been a family bug, no I picked my son up that day I don't live with my son, anyhow within an hour or so after eating in the hotel both of us within a very short while came down with the same yes the sh*ts.... food seriously sub standard considering the cost....
Queuing times in the park for the rides stupid unless you can afford the fast track tickets, I'm in a fortunate position where I can afford fastrack tickets but won't after having already payed for entry into said park, call me a tight git but why should I be able to jump the queue if I pay extra, in my eyes that's wrong..... after seeing quite a few people whom were willing to pay extra for that so called privilege. " yes I can afford said luxury but never the less it's still queue jumping "....... you guys post this every where in your park!.....
Anyhow moving on, on the two days we visited the theme park two of the big roller coasters had broken down whilst also being in said queues, and also your cable car, after being in said queues for over an hour on each of the three occasions now after listening to other people and also chatting with others who had been on the park on previous days, this sounds to be a common occurrence......."citation needed here via other users comments".. No mention of any recourse to said paying parties, after having wasted their time mine and also my son. So two days in the park two nights stay in one of the hotels and a day in the water park a good few quid spent, and also having to pay for another attraction within the park, Alton Towers your taking the yellow stuff yes that would be the p*ss. I used to love going to this place, no longer true, you have become the epitome of pure greed!!!!! hence capitalism at it's worst!
