It is unfortunate that there is no "zero star" choice here. When our furniture was delivered we asked where our recliner was. The delivery driver told us that he had an "extra" chair with his last delivery so he just gave it to those people instead. Really?? He basically stole our property and gave it away. We also had broken glass from a curio cabinet and other damaged items. Will not recommend this company to anyone. They only serve as the broker and cannot keep a handle on the carriers they use. One of them is Colonial Van Lines. If you value your goods, pay a little extra for a company that owns its own trucks.

This company was very prompt when it came to signing the contract and taking money. When time came to deliver the service the movers showed up late for pickup, reeking of alcohol in a uhaul truck. 4.5 hours to load a 1 bedroom appartment.
Nothing was inventoried but I was made to sign blank inventory sheets and never received a copy though I was promised one.
I was promised a different crew at the time of delivery. My stuff arrived filthy, damaged and late! My most valuable box went "missing" and it took dozens of calls and texts to get its contents thrown in a box and sent to me uninsured 2 weeks after delivery.
Company offered me 250$ to keep my mouth shut. I hope their lousy business practices catch up to them. Beware before booking this company for your move!

What a miserably experience
We went with these guys because they said they could move our truck and our household. They asked for two different dates for pick up. Understandable. we made it very clear we were flying across country to pack up the house that is sold and meet them for pick up of the truck and household items. This was scheduled two months in advance.
We had literally just been picked up at the airport and got a call that they had a hauler for our truck and were still working on the household move. WHAT? You are telling us AFTER we fly out there? You KNEW when our flight was!
Spent the next couple days packing the house and calling other companies. At this point, we are willing to pay anything because the house is sold and we need to move our stuff! I l kept calling and calling All State and telling them the house is sold and we have a flight to catch and they (Roxanne) kept telling us they are doing everything they can do. Almost like script.
Finally, as if a joke, she calls with good news. They have a driver that can come the day before we are supposed to fly out. Fine. That day comes and Roxanne calls to verify the move a day AFTER we fly out. I tell her, no that isn't what you said when we spoke yesterday. She DENIED calling me the day before! Seriously? Actually, with all the communications with them I think she actually denied she made two separate calls to us.
Fortunately my sister in law lives a couple hours from the house and we had to dump the responsibility on her to meet them for the pickup, which was two weeks after we flew back.
At this point I looked up the company that was doing the pick up and started communicating with them directly. It was difficult as English wasn't their primary, or even secondary, language. BE AWARE Allstate isn't the actual mover! They put your job on some board for truckers to pull jobs from, so you are waiting for someone going the direction your stuff needs to go. You don't get to check them out or anything. You're told who your mover is.
I've travelled cross country before. Took five days both times. The truck hauler came three days after he picked up the truck. The battery was dead, but what the hell.
The household stuff literally took a month. I do mean 30 days! Turns out the driver was hanging out in Portland for a few weeks because he's looking for a house there.
When he showed up he was alone. We had told All State furniture needs to go up a flight of stairs. They didn't tell him so he didn't have a helper. My husband had to help him.
After a month I was expecting a lot of damage, but there wasn't any. The rare bright spot of this whole ordeal.
Oh wait, I forgot! The quote I was given from Allstate was $200 less than what the actual mover said. Again, at this point I didn't give a damn.
In the end it cost just as much as going through United Van Lines, which is what I wished we had done.
Do yourself a favor and call an actual moving company. In the end it will cost the same, but they will come when they are supposed to and have complete control of the entire move.
This was an absolute nightmare! How they can get a five star rating from anyone I beyond me

I hired All state Van lines to move my furniture from TX to Michigan. They outsourced to Aggie Movers LLC who picked up my furniture on July 5. I told them the furniture needed to be delivered on July 13th. I flew into Michigan to receive the furniture. Side not they charged me for 2000 pounds but my furniture only weighed 960 pounds. When the movers showed up at my address they demanded $1003.55 before they would open the doors of the truck. I paid the balance with my debit card. After the balance was paid we discovered that the movers brought the wrong furniture NONE OF MY FURNITURE WAS ON THE TRUCK. Of course i was livid. I had the movers contact their boss. I told him i wanted my money back. He claimed that he reversed the charge and I would have to contact my card company to find out when the funds would be returned. I contacted All State Van Lines and talked to woman who said she was sorry and I told her I shouldnt have to pay for delivery. At that time she agreed. I was contacted on July 14th by All State Van Lines who said that the representative from Aggie Movers was not answering her calls. I told her he called me and said my furniture would be delivered on Saturday. On Saturday no furniture came and according to All State Van Lines, Aggie Movers still werent answering the phone. On Sunday July 16 Aggie Movers showed up with no warning, I was not home. My children called me and handed him the phone, he said he would not deliver my furniture without payment. I told him that I was told that I wasnt going to have to pay for delivery since they messed up the first time. He told me he was taking my furniture and hung up on me. On Monday July 17th I was contacted by Kristin at All State Van lines and I was informed that I misunderstood what the representative meant about the payment. She stated that I had to pay the $1003.55. I informed her that my card company said it would be 7-10 business days before the funds would be released. She said all they could do was reschedule the move and I would be charged a redelivery fee. I argued, I cant help that my card takes 7-10 business days to release the hold. Kristin told me that she would work on the fee but in the meantime I should set up a new delivery date. I told her July 28-29. She told me she had to confirm with Aggie movers and get back to me. She called me back on July 17th and informed me that I was confirmed. I called All State on July 24th to confirm we were still on schedule for delivery this week. Kristin put me on hold and came back on the phone and said she couldn't confirm the date yet. I called back on July 27th and asked for a confirmation of delivery for the 28 or 29th as I wouldnt be in town and had to make arrangements for someone to receive the furniture. She informed me that my items were out for delivery but Aggie couldnt confirm a delivery time yet. On July 28 I heard nothing. I called on July 29th to inquire about my delivery. Kristin was off work so I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was transferred to James. I told him my situation. He called Aggie Movers and was told that my furniture never left the warehouse and was still in Tx and he never confirmed delivery for the 28-29 although it was in the notes. James said he would try to rectify the situation and call me Monday. Kristin called me July 31 and said they still had no resolution or delivery date. I heard nothing until today August 7th. I was told that not only did I have to pay the balance but I was being charged a redelivery fee. And they still dont have a delivery date. This is outrageous!!! I am being penalized for all of their errors.

I agree with the person who wanted to leave no stars. I signed with this outfit to move our belongings from WV to TN. They had an "arrival window" of two days to pick up. We were doing all the packing. Day 1 of the "window", we've been getting calls for two days telling us they were "working on a definite arrival time." No calls till in the afternoon of day 1. (Mind you, we were already living in TN, and had to drive 6.5 hours to meet them.) I was assured they would be there the next day. The next day, in the AFTERNOON again, they call and inform us that the truck had what they originally thought was a minor mechanical problem, but it was the transmission so they couldn't make it. Rescheduled for Tuesday. Now, all the utilities has already been disconnected so we had to stay at the only nearby hotel ($170). Made sure to call and confirm arrival for Tuesday before making the drive back up again (Husband had to work that Monday so we came home on Sunday). No, they were having problems and had NO trucks in our area. Couldn't tell me when they would be able to get there. At this point, I requested a refund. Several days of ignored calls and emails, and I finally had to threaten to contact my state attorney general. THEY then got back to be assuring me that my refund would arrive in 3-5 days. 5 days later, and after more threats with contacting the A.G., I get an email saying they are still "processing my claim" and would get back to me. I finally received my refund after almost two weeks, and I'm convinced only because I told them my next call WOULD be the the attorney general, and I gave his name so they would know that I was serious. I wouldn't hire this bunch to move my dog house. After reading their reviews, I believe we actually dodged a bullet. We ended up having to rent a uhaul and do it ourselves, but at least we have our belongings! I didn't dare post this review before getting our refund, btw... Oh, and my husband is an over-the-road truck driver. Any company that I've ever known of, in the event of a major breakdown, gets another truck there asap. Their break-down story they give everyone is bogus.

Is it possible to leave zero stars?
No one I have talked to, including customers on several review sites and FB have had a good experience. The 5 star reviews (listed here and elsewhere) should be removed as the are obvious forgeries. My move, in 2015 from VT to TN was a disaster. Luckily another company stepped up. After several weeks this sorry excuse for a company (All State Vanlines) refunded the money they had not earned. Can't wait to read their reply to this.

We had no idea this company was not a full service moving company until the day before our move when we were notified at the last minute that an outsourced agent, ENERGY MOVING LLC would conducting our move. We freaked when we saw the terrible reviews this company received. Unfortunately we had to move by a specific date so there was no time to make a change. It was a nightmare situation from start to finish. They showed up late on moving day with a single U-Haul rented truck. We were told that the other U-Haul truck had broken down and they were in the process of waiting for U-Haul to release them another truck. The second truck finally showed up towards late afternoon, however since the space was limited, they disassembled all of our furniture along with a treadmill. It took two days to finally get everything loaded. The crew was composed of unprofessional movers from a 16 year old to a senior who ended up dropping our washing machine down several stairs and hitting the end or our big screen TV on our tile floor and cracking the frame! This happened right in front of us. To our horror, our china cabinet had two holes knocked through the back. They of course didn't happen to mention this when they reassembled it during our move in. This was shipped from Italy without a scratch! They could not figure out how to put our treadmill back together. We later paid a service company to come out, but the treadmill was permanently damaged and the speed settings were not reliable. I could go on and on about the thousands of dollars of damages they caused. We have moved 5 times in the past and never endured anything like this. It was a stressful, horrible experience! To make matters worse, when we submitted our damage claim, this company offered to reimburse us $210.00 for the total of all the damages that were done. ..and they expected us to collect monies directly from the mover. Right!! After some going back and forth, they offered us $500.00 if we would agree to sign a contract to not write any bad reviews. Obviously we didn't sign their contact. We thought is was more important to let other consumers know about this scab outfit. If for some reason you still decide to use this company, please make sure you get full replacement insurance. It will cost several thousand dollars, but at least you will be able to replace any damaged furniture.

Awful and stressful experience with this company. The agent they outsourced my move to was highly unprofessional and they took no responsibility for setting me up with such poor service.
FYI they keep the whole deposit and the agent doesn't get paid till delivery. This means that had you just worked with the agent directly, the move would have be cheaper.
Back to the agent. The outsourced agent (AMPM llc St. Louis) was highly unprofessional and had many issues with them, including late pick-up (over 2 hours late), smaller truck size that did not fit all my belongings (clearly listed on the inventory), and late delivery (over 12 hours late). They arrived for delivery at 9pm and where not done till midnight. 2 of my items where damaged.
However, My most pressing issue is that the manger of AMPM shouted at me during the delivery. The manger actually bullied me for money that All State had not told me I owed. I had to involve the police, because I felt unsafe and it all seemed pretty shady. Who shouts at their coustumer for money? Especially at 9pm.
No shocker here, I was not able to contact All state while I felt threaten by the agent they set me up with because it was 9pm at night.
I finally contacted All state after the delivery and before posting this and told them of my issues with the agency they set my move up with, but they did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation and instead argued with me over the phone. All I really wanted was an apology.
Just stay away. Find a new company or sell your furniture and buy new ones (that's what I wish did). It's not worth it. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Run away from this company as fast as you can, none of their quotes are reliable. They sent someone incompetent who could not speak English which made communication difficult. They did not have enough room on their truck to deliver my goods so it is still back in my former home. Bad bad company that will give you nothing but stress.

I don't normally leave reviews, but my experience with All State was so awful, that I'll make an exception in this instance. It's hard to imagine a company providing worse customer service. Dealing with this company was a painful experience from start to finish. All State contracted out two other companies, Zip Moving & Storage and Relo Van Lines, to do the move. None of these three companies were particularly concerned with delivering my belongings in a timely manner, which is ironic considering that is their only job. I was initially given a three day window for delivery. Pickup on Thursday, delivery over the weekend. I contacted them at the end of that window after not hearing a word from them, at which point I was told they were running three days late. The entire move from pickup to delivery was only expected to take three days, so running three days late is difficult to accept, especially without an explanation. They care so little about customer service that they didn't even call me to let me know that they wouldn't make the promised delivery window. I guess they assumed that I would figure it out when the truck never showed up. I was initially told that I would be reimbursed $50 for each day that they were late. Another employee then told me that I may not get any reimbursement depending on who was to blame for the delay. They said that they would not reimburse me if it was the fault of one of the two companies that they contracted. After arguing with a number of their employees they finally agreed to $100 dollar reimbursement for the three day delay. After arguing even longer, and being told that I was lucky to be getting anything at all (again, great customer service), I was finally given the $150 reimbursement originally promised.
The many, many other complaints include, but are not limited to:
-Them telling me that there would be a $100 fee for holiday pickup, even though the holiday in question was St. Patrick's Day, which is not a recognized holiday.
-Them attempting to have a family member put additional insurance on my bill, which I had already declined. They presented it as if it had never been discussed, did not mention that I had already declined it, and attempted to have it added to my bill without notifying me.
-They do not return calls or respond to emails unless you harass them repeatedly.
-They underestimate the weight and subsequent cost of the move on the original quote in what can only be described as a bait and switch. Many other reviewers have reported this same issue, so be prepared to pay much more than what is listed on the original quote.
-They did not provide weekend delivery as promised, which was necessary with my schedule at a new job. After the three day delay, they then promised evening delivery, which they also didn't provide. I was forced to take time off of a new job due to All State not meeting any of their promises.
Save yourself a lot of headaches, and use another company. You will not be happy with the service you receive from All State.

I agree with the bad review below. I'm not one to ever make reviews but I have to, in order to save all of you from making a terrible mistake. So here is the story.
We were moving from northern Virginia to Charlotte North Carolina. We informed the company we owned a five bedroom house with lots of toys and lots of furniture. The day before our move toey said a truck would show up (I forget the size but I think is was a 26ft). My husband calls them a day before and informs them that truck is not large enough. They assure us it is. Movers show up and work from 12pm to 2am. The only reason we agreed to stay this late is they stated they would get the furniture to our house the next day if they finished up. Well they finished and two rooms were not packed in the truck because as we thought the truck was to small. My husband worked effortlessly to try and find a solution. They blamed us like we didn't tell them things on the list (which is a lie). The movers also stated before they started everything would fit on the truck. We didn't detail out every toy but we told them room size and what to expect. They were not sympathetic nor did they care. It took us a week to hunt them down and get them to deliver our furniture. Back to the delivery they did not show up the next day in Charlotte nor did they call us. We again had to hunt down our stuff. One week later they show up again to pick up the rest of our stuff. However they didnt pack a large sectional. They LEAVE it. It was on the LIST. And my husband sent pictures to them detailing it all. They again did not sympathize nor did they care. My husband had to drive back up to northern Virginia rent a uhaul and drive back with the sectional. They said they would provide us with a credit. Do you think we have seen it NO. Don't ever use this company. I am posting on every site I possibly can. And will repost this story over and over to warn others. I am reasonable. I accept mistakes. But if you do nothing to fix those mistakes and I have to clean up the mess with no sympathy then I don't believe in the company. I didn't even care about the cost my company was paying for relocation but they were off by 2k.

Reserved moving services weeks ago with a scheduled pickup for 12/21 and drop off for 12/27. Was told "no problem" regarding the window and that the timeframe would be fine with no holding fees. Was called back later to reschedule after my deposit was collected. Had to deal with numerous folks to listen to calls and prove what I was told. I accommodated a request to have the pickup moved to 12/22. Was called on 12/21 and was told the pickup would be on 12/23 between 4-6 which is unacceptable. Called back later and told 10-11 would work. Was called at 8 pm on 12/22 and told time was now 4-6 again. I rose a storm and had the time adjusted back to 1-3. 12 pm 12/23 rolls around and I'm called and told they will arrive at 6pm. They haven't even picked up my stuff yet but I've been pushed and pulled all over the place and had the schedule changed and the last minute multiple times. Absolutely outrageous and unprofessional. Once they took my deposit the story sank fast and the customer service went to a 0/10. Worst interaction I have ever had in my life. Never ever use this company. They will jerk you around until smoke is pouring out of your ears

I thought what I was missing was a microwave. Well, I found that. However, a box of my clothes that had brand new pajamas and my Irish sweater, I bought on my trip there is gone. Heaven knows what else was in that box. Then I am missing a huge box of my pantry stock. Shampoo, conditioners and other pantry items I purchased for storage. This relates to a lot of money. I'm not happy about this. I did have a lot of boxes which would have been heavy for the truck, ( going by the driver's own words), but with the price I paid, a truck big enough to handle my move should have been used. I was told a big truck, so I pictured a moving van and I was told 3-4 guys. Nothing was further from the truth. Then these guys, after they packed my beoongings, headed to their parent's in Connecticut froze Cape Cod. So, did they unload my boxes there? I was good to these guys. I gave them gift cards and bought them lunch. Moving is the worst experience ever. It's very stressful for these very reasons. Not happy, but nothing I can do.

When we originally booked with All State Van Lines, they said one price per pound and stated that if pounds increased the price per pound would decrease. The final contract I have showed $0.60/pound and then once final weight came in they stated that because we adjusted the weight we have to pay the original contract price of $0.62/pound. It is not the $200 it is the questionable character of this company. They do use subcontractors for actual move and ours was not only extremely late but were also unprofessional with their comments towards my sister. It is worth the cost to use a reputable mover that is well known for their service. This company is shady and their account managers are slow in response time.
