We highly recommend Alexander+Roberts if Machu Picchu is on your bucket list. Terrific service-meet and greet at Airport, Hotel checkin, and tour guide Anna Marie from Cusco was excellent. She shared her passion for Peru, especially Machu Picchu.
Impressed with Alexander+Roberts also supporting a community in Cusco. What a great organization, giving back to the country.

The services were exceptionally good, although i wish the company would include all gratuities to tour guides, local guides and drivers on all tours and excursion.

Best tour ever!
We have enjoyed 5 or 6 tours with Alexander and Roberts and the Kenya-Tanzania Safari trip was the best yet. We had a small group, only 3 couples so we were able to move easily and quickly because of our size. Plenty of room to spread out in the safari vehicles!
Our guides were all very knowledgeable, easy to understand and gave us so much information that made for an excellent learning experience.
The accommodations were as expected and considering the remote locations of most, very comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Meals were plentiful and varied.
This trip is very, very physical and the roads are rough and slow going. The dust, flies and heat should be considered but all of the hardship of " getting there" quickly falls by the wayside when you have your first animal encounter. A mama cheetah with 6 three week old offspring, a male lion that walked right up to our truck and "marked" us as being in his territory, a female lion carrying a tiny cub in her mouth across an open field, a leopard high in a tree enjoying his kill and hundreds and hundreds of Wildebeest forging the river were all special and memorable highlights of our days. We kept saying it couldn't possibly get better but yet each day managed to top the previous day.You should not miss this experience. It truly was magical and unforgettable!

Our recent Holy Land small group tour gave us a wholistic, broad view of the Holy Land and Israel. Whether you are interested in the Holy sites, archeology, history, culture, diversity of faiths & peoples, this trip is for you. Our guide, Michael W. was knowledgeable, friendly with the local people, sensitive to our needs & had a great sense of humor. As always Alexander Roberts provided great service, hotels & food.

Excellent service, awesome guides. Could have had better guidance when it came to what to pack. We brought twice as much as needed. I’ll repeat, awesome guides!

The Peru trip that my husband & I just ended was my third adventure with Alexander & Roberts & it sure is pleasing to learn that they take client feedback seriously. They included wine or beer with the meals that they included in the itinerary. Our tour guide AnnaMaria was fantastic! She is knowledgeable, fascinating, caring & kind. The hotels were the best! The meals that were included were delicious & choices were plenty. My husband & I will certainly look into celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary enjoying another Alexander & Roberts adventures.

We used A+R for a tour of China that included all the main sights and cities and a 4-day cruise on the Yangtze River. Overall the trip was excellent: the guides were excellent (friendly, knowledgeable, spoke great English), the hotels were wonderful (all 5-stars), and the places we visited were exactly as described. The only disappointment was the condition of the Yangzi Explorer river ship. It is in need of a facelift, or perhaps complete replacement. It's not that it is bad, and the crew is terrific, but it is simply not the luxury experience that it was advertised to be. Nevertheless, everything went without a hitch: flights, transfers, meals, and visits. We would choose A+R again for our next tour without hesitation!

What delighted you on this trip?
The Big 5 in Kenya and Gorillas of Rwanda tours back-to-back exceeded our expectations to see the wide array of animals in their natural, wild setting. The people of Kenya and Rwanda are so nice and welcoming. We had a lot of stops throughout the whole journey and never missed a beat; with ready welcomes at each stop. The hotels and tent camps were top notch, very comfortable.
What might you change about this trip?
While the regular safari guides provide very good tours in the wild, the trips with the Conservatory Staff can provide spectacular up-close experiences behind the scenes. Book more of these guided tours.
We had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed seeing the animals up so close. It was amazing to get the opportunity to meet the people of Kenya and Rwanda who are extremely welcoming and kind.
We felt safe the entire trip. It was great to have A&R or “Sense of Africa” staff at each airport location; it made the experience so much less stressful.
The choice of “Sense of Africa” as the Kenya “in country” partner seems to work very well.
At first I thought that we should just fly to all locations within Kenya but we appreciated the opportunity to experience the local culture when we drove on two longer drives (4 hours each) to Amboselli and to Ol Pejeeta. The airline (SafariLink) within Kenya did a great job.
The preparation documents and instructions really prepared us well. The additional information that the A&R concierge provided before the trip was extremely helpful. The duffel bags worked just as planned – even though it was an effort to figure out how to live within 33lbs for two weeks. 😊
The guides were all knowledgeable and took small liberties showing us some extra activities/sites that added a lot of value to the trip.
We made the right decision to add a balloon safari ride. What a view point of the mass of animals in the migration.

Last week I returned from an 11 day adventure to Kenya and Tanzania. It was everything I had hoped for from the first person who met us at the gate in Nairobi to the last guide to escort us through the airport at Kilimanjaro. All the guides we had were terrific as were the accommodations. I would definitely travel with Alexander & Roberts again.

Traveled to Israel and Jordan Sept. 3-15. The customer service of A&R is outstanding. Had to leave Fla. early due to Hurricane, and they made all the arrangements for me. Flight change, hotels and people to meet me at an earlier date.(08/30).
Hotels first. The hotels are absolutely 1st class. Dan Panorama in Tel Aviv was a temporary for me due to early arrival, right on the Meditteranean. The Drisco Hotel was 150% good. The Setai Kinneret on the Sea of Galilee was truly an oasis. Private pool with each room. The restaurant staff was the only downside...the were quite rude and indifferent. The Inbal in Jerusalem is absolutely perfect. It was grand to spend 4 nights there. In Jordan, the Marriott in Petra is on top to the world, with wonderful views.
The Guides next. In Israel, Yoel Oren was our tour guide. He is a scholar, musician, physically fit, kind, funny and went out of his way for all of us on the tour (15). He adjusted the pace when needed and knew the answers to all of our questions. Our driver was with us through out our time in Israel. Amazing driving skills. I can't remember our Bethlehem guides' name, but he provided his muscle with the crowds in Bethlehem. In Jordan, Mr. Jehad, drove 3 of us on an amazing road to Petra from the Allenby Bridge. So beautiful and he stopped anytime we wanted to take photos. He had an emergency so that we had another guide for Petra tour, Ali Al-Masadeh. He was very good and knew how to take photos with our phones better than we did. After this Ali, we had a 3rd guide/driver, another Ali, for the rest of our time in Jordan. He was very helpful making the arrangements for me with the Amman Airport hotel and having Omar meet me at the curb at the airport, to guide me through the check-in. As a woman traveling by myself, I always felt completely safe with your personnel being ready to assist in any way.
Now the tour.
I, personally, wasn't really prepared for how very hot it was, but this was my fault. As a woman, I think that traveling in the hottest months, we could get by with long, loose dresses, skirts and short sleeve or sleeveless. Always have a scarf to cover shoulders if necessary. A wide brim hat was great. Didn't bring sunscreen, but probably should have. One person in our group had the cargo pants with all the pockets. Great idea, so that you don't have to carry anything. I loved all of the places in Israel that we visited. Would have liked to have a free afternoon to be in the Old City to browse and shop. All of us were overwhelmed with the beauty and history of Israel, and I was so glad that we had Yoel to guide us. The site of Petra was breathtaking. I was relieved that I had been going to the gym to get in shape for the walking/climbing and that I had the right shoes for the terrain.
The one downside for me was Bethlehem. Arriving in Bethlehem was arriving in the slums. Garbage and trash everywhere, even with a trash can, the people threw things on the road. I cannot believe that with the thousands of tourists that visit, that whoever is in charge, government/tourist board??? wouldn't take some pride in their city. Also, the bus stopped at a gift shop FIRST, with pretty high pressure to buy. I would never want to return to Bethlehem.
Thank you Alexander and Roberts for the wonderful service and wonderful memories.

I continue to be exceptionally pleased with Alexander+Roberts. The tour guides, attention to detail, early entrance to busy sites and the small tour group size all combine to make a truly memorable experience.

Everything about this trip went smoothly from our first greeting at the airport through our many camps, small plane rides, and game drives. Every guide and staff member was knowledgeable and experienced, providing great service and with warm smiles. We felt so welcome at the fabulous accommodations and food, which were all way above what we expected. The breath-taking experiences of witnessing cheetahs taking down a wildebeest, to the wildebeest stampede across the Mara River, to the leopards walking by, to the sleeping lions right next to our jeep, to the elephants grazing around us, and the amazing hot air balloon rides over the Maasai Mara and Serengeti: all were simply stunning. Dancing with the Maasai in their village and meeting the children in their school made this trip so personal. For seamless organization and outstanding personnel, Alexander Roberts cannot be beat. We look forward to our next trip!

We traveled with AR to Morocco and had a horrible experience. Bad guide, bad logistics, missed itinerary items. I note that others on the trip who had traveled with AR before said it was an atypical experience. Our post trip follow up from the company was slow and not particularly customer-friendly. Will not travel with them again as there are so many other alternatives.

We had an amazing experience from the first day to the last. Kathy, our tour director, was so enthusiastic about the events and had so much information to share, as did our bus drivers and local guides. There was nothing not to like! Thanks for a wonderful vacation.
