Hi! My name is Benjamin Walker. I am posting from my girlfriends account Kerstin.
My girlfriend ordered something of the internet what turned out to be fraud. So we called and explained that we would like to dispute the transaction because it was fraudulent. Now, the lady instantly asked me to verify that it is me she is talking to. Then she proceeded to inform me that she has to suspend my card because of this transaction, and that she will have to send me a new one. Now, I am a construction worker and barely home. She insisted she cannot send the card to my hotel. Furthermore do I have to undergo ID verification, which I tried but their system is NOT WORKING. So, my money is on the card which I can't access. I think this company with Mr. Bruce Smith as the CEO is conducting fraudulent business by keeping my and apparently other people money which my research concluded. If somebody feels the same way and has the same experience with Akimbo card please contact me under 803 862 7385. I hired an attorney to look deeper into it. Also I contacted the FDIC consumer protection agency to inform them about their fraudulent activities. I am a hard working man and right now have no access to my funds because Mr.Bruce Smith believes he has to freeze my funds.

Please don’t get this card . Horrible card , bad customer service , people are rude and don’t help you at all , I called several times for help because my card was suspended for no reasons and they don’t want unblock my card , they keep sending me links to attached my ID card and picture of myself and their link doesn’t work , Customer service doesn’t try to help you and they give you bad information. I asked one of the customer service , so if I have money in my account and you guys can’t no help me to unblock it , it means you take the many from several customer and her answer was yes , nothing can’t do about it , so basically this bank are thieves.

Decent card with low fees. No problems for a few months, then when I had a problem, customer service was uninterested and offensive. Really, really, really, bad customer service.
Inaccurate information about fees and policies on website.
Mistakes happen but when customer service refuses to assist in with a bank error, I lose trust.
Cutting up my card... too many other options.

They suspended my account and I have over $1000 in my account. I have to pay my bills and feed my kids. They are starving. Why did you guys suspend my account? I tried uploading my id, etc via the Netverify system but it's not working. I need access to my account/funds please lift the suspension.
Customer service are rude!! I will be filing a complaint via bbb.org.

I have used Akimbo for years, and loved it. However, recently, all 4 of my cards are rejecting at certain stores ( Kroger, Dollar General), which is very annoying. If I can't figure out why, and how to remedy, I regretfully will have to search for something similar. Additionally, my last load was unable to process, after several tries. Frustrating, for a great card in the past.

It sounded so good, but their website gave erroneous instructions that caused a cascade of problems -- additional cards issued, unlinked accounts, etc. It ended up being way more trouble than it was worth. Their customer service is awful!

I was ecstatic to find this product today. We've been using Serve for many years with stickers on the back indicating which sub-account "household" "dog" etc. It's a pain to sort thru the 5 subaccounts whenever we want to make a purchase. Akimbo was supposed to solve this based on how they are marketing and showing this on their website. The website extensively touts and shows cards with category printed names on the front to help identify and budget both physically with the card and on their app.
Big fat misleading lie. When signing up I couldn't figure out where to designate these names and after speaking with customer service was told that function was not possible, only could we switch the first and last name to something. They said their website is not correct and needs to be updated.
I hate being lied to and especially with my finances involved.

I got an Akimbo card for my 10 year old daughter thinking this would be a nice way to make her feel like a big kid. After some time, my daughter forgot about the card for several months. After reminding her, we logged in to check the balance and it was almost empty! I thought at first it due to fraud but actually Akimbo charges an "INACTIVITY FEE" every month! I contacted support to get the fee refunded and they said no too bad. Apparently, their business model is to steal money from unsuspecting 10 year olds. Ridiculous will warn EVERYONE about them from here on out.

Not a card for casual use. Akimbo Card works well for getting money to my grandsons, in college, using the Sub Account option. However, there are so many fees they are discouraged from using the card. Eats up the balance in the account.

I've had the card for several years now...it's a great concept. I've had a handful of difficulties with it, however all traceable to one of the most inept customer service operations I've ever had the misfortune to experience. Aside from the fact that it takes them ten whole days to replace a canceled or missing card..it often takes multiple phone calls, to different people, to get any given issue resolved. There's also a bit of an attitude on the end of the line...as if I exist to assist them instead of the other way around. They would be better off firing all of the managers in their Customer Service Unit and starting over again from scratch...even with the learning curve down time for the new managers, it couldn't get worse. Great concept...semi competent implementation.

Been using akimbo since November of 2018 still satisfied by the desicion I made by using their card in all honestly where I live at is at Odessa where it's always pack in stores after work hours an people use the banks to cash their hard earn checks to get them the money they want but I hated waiting an I've found this card that supports Apple pay which is a need for me when ever I send out money to family it's their an not only that cashing my check over the phone was even more cool aside from the fees they provide which varies on each check you try to cash on a secondary app they use which is called ingo money an directly adds the money to the akimbo card or hey you can also use your actual card too on the app if the company of the card supports the app but over all this card has been good too me including cashing in my card an transferring over my money from akimbo to apple pay cash card an then transfer it too my main card that I always use I really do like this card an best decision ive made only one note I have to make an this just barely happened yesterday but if your low on cash on your card I think I'm not sure won't let you finish what's left over thats on the card like for instance if you have 13 dollars left in your card an wish to finish it all what's left akimbo won't let you do so I'm not quiet sure but that happened yesterday an today but I'll have to find out tomorrow but overall best deal I've made even to use as a daily runner which is still great I gave this card four stars due to the low funds not to let me get what left in the card but overall I never used the cash app but I've been seeing the reviews an by far I only seen akimbo be the most convenient an best overall over the cash app

I have a direct deposit from my employer instead of getting my paycheck earlier like they said 2 days before, I get it late like sat, like 4 days late, it’s non sense having it deposited to your account, useless

Great concept I was really excited with all the options available however their customer service is atrocious. Problems receiving my card. Problems getting it activated, they sent out another card and failed to remove the old information and add new card details so I still couldn’t use it. Called customer service and the rep was rude and acted like I was wasting her time to the point I found myself apologizing for asking a question. Their live chat really didn’t work. I sat in there over 5 min and never received a reply. Cool concept. Terrible customer service. Results in me taking my business elsewhere.

They get 1 star because I had to give them 1 to be able to write a review. It took 3 tries with a service agent to finish registering my card after, the system conveniently crashed after getting my SSN. 2 weeks after not getting the card, they "assured" me I was not a victim of identity theft. They supposedly canceled the 1st supposed card and promised they were issuing another card to replace the 1st that "got lost in the mail". I was to be contacted via email by the supervisor as soon as he did this. It has now been a month and i have not received either card. If I have not received both cards by the time I get hone from work tomorrow, I am contacting and makung a formal complaint with Homeland Security.

I loaded $50 onto an Akimbo card and set a recurring bill to charge this card $4 per month.
The company sent me an email that the card doesn't work, even though my account still shows the $50 is available.
Sounds like a scam to me and hopefully I can get my $50 back.

I’m a non traditional student that had my school refund deposited to this card. It’s been over a month and Akimbo will not send a card or return the direct deposit to my school. There is 1 customer service agent by the name of Edgar. He is the epitome of incompetence. I am currently taking legal action against him and the bank as well.
