My family and I rented two vans in Los Angeles on 8/13/19 thur8/17/19 one van had a lot of damage we mark the walk around form with dents and burns in the seat.If you are renting a van from LAX airport please check the vehicle out and take pictures

If there were an option for ZERO stars, that’s what I would give this company. Do NOT waste your time or money with them! My family of 8 rented a van in September from Sacramento. We were given a van with HORRIBLE alignment issues!!! The insides of the tires were worn almost to the steel. I called as soon as they opened the next morning and was told by “Daniel” to take the van to a tire shop and have used tires put on and they would reimburse me later. I was in town for 4 days for my daughters wedding!! I did not hat TIME nor did I have the MONEY to do this! I have gone round and round with this company! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the company responded with BS! I have pictures, emails, and documentation of EVERYTHING! Please put this place out of business!!!

I rented a van and everything was as I expected quick, friendly, and their prices are great! I always recommend my family and friends bc I know they will be taken care of with their car rental needs.

Manager Maria is extremely unprofessional. She probably needs to change job fields. She doesn't know how to talk to customers and then acts sarcastic with you. I have rented cars in the past from other agencies and have never had a bad experience. I'm extremely disappointed and will NEVER rent from here again.
The wait to pick up the van was over an hour and all they could offer was a 5% discount for wasting time. They also charge you $20 to drop off the vehicle after hrs.
I regret not reading the reviews in advance. Wish there was an option to not select a Star as they do not deserve one.

This is the worst company I have ever used. I made a reservation for a 2 15 passenger van and they gave me oldest oldest they had. There was a problem with one of the tires, I let the agent know and he said that's all we have. We got on the road next morning and the tire was shaking really bad, seat belts didn't work, it had flies inside and it was smelling smoke really bad. I asked to speak with managers and no one called. There was a person by the name of Marcus from customer service who called me and said he was going to call me within 10min. Never heard from him. I've been calling and leaving messages and no answer.

We rented a van from them through Expedia.com several months ago.
When we showed up to get the van after waiting 30 minutes for a shuttle, they hit us with a bait and switch tactic. They said Expedia does not set their rates they do, and that they are tired of Expedia renting the vans for so cheap. They refused to honor the Expedia reservation which we paid for up front when we made the reservation, they then charged us an additional $700 to rent the van. We were stranded, so we needed a van. The van was mediocre in quality. We paid for unlimited mileage which we were told at check out was actually limited.
Now, here it is several months later and they charged my VISA card for additional money without even a phone call or request for authorization. When I called them, nobody could give me an answer as to what the new charge was for, but they did tell me that another charge was going to take place in the same amount. I informed them that they were wrong to do this. The person I spoke with agreed, and apologized for the trouble, but could not give me any answers or reverse the charges. All they could do was give me a phone number and email to contact someone else. My response from them was, "Sorry, that is not my department.You need to contact someone else."
So, I decided to call my bank a placed a stop payment on them and the bank reversed the unauthorized charges.

I am severely upset with the service at the Portland location! The service I received at that location was a horrible way to start my vacation with my children. I was traveling from South Carolina to Portland, OR with my seven children (ages 2 – 14), by myself for 3 weeks. I rented a van from AVR to accommodate my family during our vacation based on online reviews and price. It was not inexpensive (over $2,000). When I booked the van I was under the impression that the van rental office was located at the Portland airport.
A few days prior to my departure to Portland, I found out different, when the Portland office contacted me to let me know their airport shuttle was not running. As a lone parent with seven kids, I was very concerned about how I would be getting to the rental location. The location told me they could provide me with one Lyft ride. I was very upset because it is not possible to take all my kids and myself in a single Lyft and I was not willing to leave some of my children at the airport or have them ride with a stranger to the rental location…my whole family needed to go to the van location at one time.
I called the 1-800 customer service number for AVR to try and resolve this issue. They assured me that the location could get two Lyft drivers at the same time. I arranged with a family member to meet me at PDX to help me with my kids and make sure they were not riding alone with a stranger. When I arrived at PDX I called the van location to arrange transportation to pick up my rental van. They were adamant that they could only summons one Lyft driver at a time and that I would have to leave half my kids at the airport and then they could summons another Lyft driver or I could pay for another Lyft myself. I asked if they could use the van I was renting to come get me and my kids and was told that was absolutely not possible. They did not care about my situation and were unwilling to help me at all! I am grateful I had a family member meet me at PDX and could help me and was able to order another Lyft and ride with half my kids.
When I got to the rental location, I was told that AVR would take off the cost of the Lyft ride to the rental location, but not the $4.00 tip. Are you kidding me!?!?! I was not supposed to tip the driver who had to take a longer time due to my having car seats, luggage, etc? I am not that kind of person. Apparently, AVR (at least the Portland location) is that type of company. Furthermore, when I asked how I would be able to get back to the airport, I was told they would be able to drop me and my kids off in the van I had rented. Why couldn’t they do that to pick us up?!
All the miscommunication and horrible service on AVR’s part got my vacation off to a very rough start. Had I known that the customer service was so poor at the Portland location I would have rented from another company. I am so disgusted that this company did not care about me or my family, at all!

Piece of CRAP!!! place to rent a car I was charged 491.00 for a rental then 279.00 for mileage when it said unlimited mileage and then 250.00 on a deposit and 99.00 on insurance. A grand total of over 1,000.00 to rent a van. You people are the worst. I was going to take my 86yr. Old mom on her last trip, but now we have no extra money to enjoy anything.

I hadn't heard of this company before this weekend, so was a bit nervous to use them. Found out about them on Travelocity when my vehicle broke down. They had good hours & I got a full sized SUV for pretty much half the price of an economy car! When I had to extend my rental for another 4 days, I got it for another 50% off! (Note: go thru Travelocity if you have to extend, otherwise you would pay more.)
Good staff, polite & cooperative. The SUV was a newer model, clean inside & out.

try new company to on expedia late at night to rent van was not ready no unlimited miles
and expedia says unlimited after 15 minutes they told me go out to check it but still needed extra time to fill gas up they gave me clipboard to write scratches and van was very bad shape and told a worker it wasn't my job to check it and told him I couldn't close side door and he accused me I damaged it and he had cameras to check I got so upset I walk away and had stay extra night so I could rent on another rent company because was so lateMore

The price was fair, the vehicle provided was acceptable but not equipped for Utah weather. It was brought up from California and wasn't prepared for winter driving conditions which is what I really needed. Upon vehicle inspection I pointed out a nail visible in the tire. I asked for another but there wasn't anything available and it was shrugged off by the employee. I told the guy I was going to Colorado and they'd better be ready for a phone call to bring me another vehicle. The car I rented performed exceptionally well as I got to experience white out conditions, 85 miles of snowpacked roads. Anti-lock and traction control up the whazz zoo. Brake/sliding for multitudes of deer crossing roads. When I returned the vehicle, I was charged for extra miles. When I showed the employee the advertisement I used to find this company to rent a car, it is advertised as unlimited mileage. I got screwed on that one but I didn't let this ruin my trip. Ps. I stopped along the way at Big-O tires and they fixed the tire for me.

We waited 45 minutes on the curb at the airport for the van. Way too long! The car we reserved was not available. The car we were given was very dirty, inside and out. Nearly every time I called the office in Denver, I got a recorded message and no access to a live person. Not a good experience renting from your company.

Terrible car and customer service. Upon getting to the car, I noticed the dents and scratches. I told the agent about it and he was rude, just put few writings about the scratches on the rental agreement and left.

Waited almost 2 hours after my reservation time to get our van. The associate that was helping me was rude, cursed at me. Then prodceeded to tell me if I don’t like waiting I can cancel my reservation. When I talked to the manager he seemed to not care at all. I won’t ever be renting from you eyes again. That customer service was the worst I’ve ever dealt with and I’ve flown spirit before and would rather do that then ever spend another penny with y’all.

Great experience. But I took Uber to pick up the car to not have to take multiple shuttles to get the car. The vehicle I received had quite a few dents but not so much that it was too bad. Didn’t mind it for the great price. The staff was courteous and the return was very smooth and efficient. Will rent from here again.

We arrived in Las Vegas after 11:00PM, we proceeded straight to baggage claim and sent 2 of our group members to get the van while the rest of us waited for luggage. I tried calling the counter to tell them we were on our way but there was no answer. It took them until 12:03 to get to Airport Van Rental. The worker was coming out of the door saying, "We are closed." He just kept repeating that. We were unable to pick up our van. We returned the next morning at opening to find out they gave away the one we were supposed to have and gave us a lesser quality van. It was not clean and really hard to get our luggage into since the back row did not fold down. Not a great experience.
