Best experience of my life!
AIFS has a great system in place to make sure their participants have all the help they need to be successful during the term. They have built in useful vouchers and a Visa card to pay for expenses such as food while you’re there. They introduce us to amazing experiences and amazing students from all over the United States.

This was a once in a life-time experience! I am so glad I got to travel out of the country and share that experience through AIFS! They have impacted my life not only through studies, but also through my character development, and even forming relationship that will last! Staff was always there in support of our entire group and made us feel welcome in every situation. A intricate thing about AIFS is that they provided a multitude of tours around the city, that we, as students, didn't have to worry about planning out. AIFS made the process of studying aboard easy, affordable, and enjoyable 100%!

AMAZING! Let’s just start off by saying that I am beyond grateful for this amazing program! They helped out of my comfort zone and into a new perspective of life! The friends and memories I’ve made could NOT have been possible without AIFS! They made everything so easy and stress free throughout the entire process and program duration! Easily one of the best decisions in my life. Everything was taken care of from classes to transportations! Absolutely love this program and I’m positive that you will too! Don’t believe me? Check out their website and social media!

AIFS helped me reach my goal of wanting to travel abroad and was so helpful the entire trip with leaving me voicemails for questions that may be unanswered as well as giving me feedback on each step of the application process. I loved the people I met on my AIFS trip and the tour guides were excellent. Would highly recommend traveling once in your college career and using AIFS as your sponsor !!

My study abroad experience exceeded my expectations. As soon as I arrived in Prague (where I studied), everything went smoothly and AIFS took great care of me and helped me adjust to this different setting. I liked how they had an introduction week where you get assimilated to the city you're studying in and learn a little background history of the culture there. They were very organized with how they arranged the housing and education aspect, and the weekend trips that were included in the program definitely made my time there a lot more enjoyable. Highly recommend going through AIFS for any interest in studying abroad.

The basics of a summer program were there, However the communication between the two schools and the AIF recruiting staff could use some work.

AIFS helped me feel prepared and comfortable in every setting I entered and it was my first time traveling abroad since I was young. My advisor, Nele, was so knowledgable and was available for 24/7 for anything we needed. My classes AIFS helped me sign up for were the BEST part of my experience and AIFS had an amazing relationship with Humboldt. I LOVE AIFS :-)

I had a really great time during my 5 weeks in Granada, and loved the excursions and activities we were offered. The staff was very available and willing to help, and it was quite clear that they knew what they were doing. They mad an effort to get to know us and what we were interested in, and really worked to make the experience as great as possible.

My AIFS study abroad experience was truly life-changing. Having the opportunity to be immersed into the culture of a non-English-speaking country was highly formative. I am grateful that I was able to live in a home stay and travel to beautiful places around Costa Rica while I was abroad. The trips with AIFS were incredible, but I wish that they were a bit more adventurous. I have no other complaints about the AIFS program, other than it was very costly. I would rate it 4.5/5 stars if I had the option to. Catalina and Karla were very helpful and made our experience more issue-free and less stressful.

AIFFS Study Abroad is a wonderful program! I made so many friends, tried so many cool foods, and learned so much academically and culturally. I want to study abroad with AIFS again!

Teachers and program coordinator were amazing and very helpful. However, most of the staff when I arrived were rude, as were the high school students from other countries in the same school. There should be more communication with students about the program. Should have known that this trip was not exclusively for college students since I applied through my college. I was also very disappointed with the quality and lack of selection of the food. It would have also been nice to mention that dinner would not be included, especially since none of the rooms have any sort of fride or microwave. Also was very upset at the fact that the school had cold fresh water that we were not allowed to get unless the caferteria was open, and their hours were very strange.

I thought the AIFS Study Abroad program was great! I loved my time abroad and AIFS was very helpful in organizing my trip and connecting me to my university. My only warning was that my classes were much harder than I anticipated. I really enjoyed them, but had to work very hard to achieve good grades. Overall, I loved my time abroad and definitely recommend AIFS!

The location and relations with the school were great. Although the choice of excursions were good, it was quite limited in number. They did really well with introducing us to other students on the program and being available for any questions or help. The meal plans weren’t discussed beforehand and actually cost more after arriving there. I wasn’t told any information about my host family until the day I arrived, luckily, it was an incredible family. I’m definitely glad I went on this program but I felt there were things missing or ways the program could’ve done better.

The program was amazing! The class placements were very straight forward, and the teachers were fantastic. My host family while staying in Barcelona were so sweet, and the best hosts you could ask for. Unfortunately, I got sick while I was in Barcelona but the amazing program directors helped me out so much by taking me to the doctor, translating for me, and helping me get medicine. I would strongly recommend this program to anyone!

For the cost of the program, I was very disappointed in a number of things. For the first month, the A/C in my room at the Cannes campus was broken, even though I had paid extra for a private room with A/C. Additionally much of the staff on campus, particularly the cafeteria and administrative staff were rude and unwelcoming. The food was horrible. Many of the amenities promised on the campus, such as a gym, kitchen, basketball court, etc. were either in very poor quality or not offered at all which was misleading.
The AIFS employees were great as were the professors. The side excursions were nice too. However again, considering other people on the Cannes campus paid a much lower fee (as they were traveling individually without AIFS), I felt like AIFS was overcharging. In fact, the program essentially cost a several thousand dollars more just for a few side excursions. I felt ripped off in a way. I wouldn’t have minded paying more if the quality of the campus, food, etc was better than it was.

The AIFS faculty in Granada, Spain made my experience both comfortable and incredible. The activity schedule they created gave me opportunities to travel around Spain (and even to Morocco) that I would not have had otherwise. Additionally, the faculty were very easy to reach when I was sick or had pressing questions about my academic schedule. Overall, Granada was a great place to study, but their expertise on the region and commitment to the students made my time in Spain the best experience of my life.

Staff lacked cultural competency, there was little to no information provided about racism and prejudices within the city I stayed in. While I enjoyed my time abroad there was little effort put in to discuss integrating into such a toxic environment as a student of color. Staff in the states took along time to respond to questions and were rude when called and asked. While there were quite a few scholarships offered I would be interested to see how many students actually got them and what the demographics are for those scholarship recipients.

Loved my experience through AIFS. Met so many amazing people, and enjoy my time in Italy so much. I loved every second and would do it again in a heartbeat. I recommend anyone to do a program with AIFS, there was so many programs and fun activities to do with the group.

The 6 weeks I spent studying abroad in London will always be considered one of the best times of my life. I grew so much as a person, as a student, and as an artist. I discovered what it is I want to do after college and realized that I am doing the right thing for my career goals. I could not have made that discovery if I had not gone to London through AIFS. I felt confident in my ability to take care of myself while being away from my friends and family, but I felt even more comfortable knowing that there were professors and staff ready to help me whenever I needed it. This was a once in a life time experience and I cannot thank AIFS enough for offering their incredible Shakespeare Summer Program!

All around AIFS was a wonderful experience! The price wasn't too steep for the amount of time I spent abroad. I was worried at first about the meal inclusion, as I thought the amount given would not be enough, but they had a wonderful deal with local restaurants and businesses, they were a perfect amount AND it helped for allowing us to immerse ourselves in the food and culture. If you have the opportunity, I would absolutely recommend AIFS!

I had a really great time studying abroad with AIFS! All of the staff I interacted with were very helpful when my flight was delayed by an entire day and my luggage got lost during that time. They checked in on me and even helped coordiante the return of my luggage once it was found. Maynooth University has a beautiful campus with amazing International Office staff. Our coordinators were all friendly past or current students who knew the campus and the town well. Maynooth itself was a peaceful town with lots of beautiful historical buildings. It's only an hour by train from Dublin. I'm dying to go back ASAP. While I was studying abroad, I also made some really great friends from all over the US! Before our time abroad was even ending, we were talking about when and where we'd next meet up once we returned home.

From the very start, AIFS made every step of the process easy! They have a great support structure for participating students. If only everything were this well organized! They were even able to immediately rebook a leg of my flight when it was unexpectedly canceled. I especially appreciated the programming offered. So many trips and experiences were built right into the trip! And I met great friends I'll have for the rest of my life.
