Absolute scam bait and switch company. Be aware. This is not an original Abes of Maine. They use intimidation tactics paired with bait and switch model.

They will call you after the order and try to either switch the item you bought or sell you something else.

I bought a lens and they called me trying to sell me a lens that was $200 more expensive compared to what I paid originally. The lens they were trying to sell me wasn't even on their website. And apparently the lens they sold me was an "international" model - with no description anywhere online of what that means. Turns out international model is a lens with nothing included - not even caps - which is unheard of.

The representative was using intimidation tactics and was rude and pushy all along. When I asked for the manager a lady Christina picked up the phone and yelled at me. This isn't a one off situation - read more reviews.

They were bought by scammers who are milking the customers for all they got. Be aware!

Order process was easy and price appeared to be competitive however the lens was grey market with no US warranty and the lens shade was aftermarket and caused vignetting. I won't buy from them again although they did give me a $50 credit but it was still expensive without a US Nikon warranty.

We bought the P1000 last year at this time. Excellent customer service. Excellent product. Looking for a lighter camera.

Promo codes didn't work. There was an upscale call after the sale that contained inaccurate and misleading information that required multiple calls to customer service to iron out. The TV itself was initially disappointing and there is a no return policy so you are stuck with whatever you order. I would not buy a TV online again.

I had never heard of Abes of Maine, so I checked them out first. They are a long time, family owned business and I feel pretty good about that. I'm excited for my new macro lens!!!! AOF made it easy to shop on their site. Thank you.

The products I received were great quality and at a fair price. However, they show the prices cheaper online, then once you order they call to notify you that you ordered the international version(which they do not even have in stock). So obviously I switched to the U. S. version which is the same price as all the other stores. So, overall it wasn't an unfair price, but pretty sneaky on their end.

There was an extra insurance charge since it was shipping to CA. I didn't know this until after the transaction and I received a phone call. A bit odd. So as an exchange I was given 'white glove service'. This was a joke....all that means is the workers plug in the tv to see if it turns on. Nothing more. It should be renamed 'plug in the tv into an outlet service'. I even asked the guys 'where are your white gloves?'

I wish that I read the reviews about this company before making a purchase, because it's true: The company writes itself fake reviews. Within a minute of placing my order, I received four missed phone calls from these people, begging to confirm my order, and then they sent me an email. I called their phone number, because I understood that they wanted to confirm my order, it was a $900 purchase. However, they tack on more and more accessories in order to get you to spend more money. Instead of spending just under $940, I spent $1,099.99 because I decided to get the retail box that came with all the accessories.

Instead of giving one star, I gave two because I still got a product that was a tad cheaper than what was being sold in retail. I haven't received the product yet, so I have no word on the quality of their products. But if it's still sealed, I am hoping that there is nothing to worry about.

This is a grey market, so you're not buying from an authentic dealer. They do "bait and switch", so know what you are getting into, and do not accept their extra deals. This company is the equivalent to a used car salesman.

Making this decision on what camera to buy and then finding the $$price has been overwhelming and not a lot of fun, until I clicked on ABES of MAINE and spoke with Ted. He was a great help, unlike other COs customer service people, I felt he understood my needs and had my best interest in what I needed.Treat someone the right way and they will use your services again, Thanks again Ted

I'd really like what I ordered, or to know it is unavailable from Abes. This confirmation or disconfirmation is what has been lacking. Instead; my order was cancelled twice with no explanation. If you really want my business; you need to tell me why there is a problem, and what I can do next, when an order is cut short. Please do follow up and make sure you get it right this time.

Bait and switch, up selling, grey market merchandise. I ended up getting more value for less money from a competitor and 100% US equipment with complete factory backing. For several thousand dollars in camera and lenses, that peace of mind is very important.

Corrupt sales process. Will call you with shady info about your product and try to screw you over. All positive reviews are FAKE. The Fake 5 stars reviews are literally part of their business model to flush out the real negative reviews...its disgusting! Items are non-warranty international versions or knock offs. Then they will threaten to charge you and say "ok what now tough guy". Embarrassing stay away from these high pressure sales crooks!

Order process was straight forward & uncomplicated. I really cherish not having to pay sales tax for orders outside of NJ & the free ground shipping, especially during this disastrous period of Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you for these bonuses!

Everything went well I would suggest maybe taking PayPal in the future to add more options hopefully the shipping is quick

It took many days and many emails before it was correctly sent to the right address and then there was a minor mistake. The person kept wanting to call and talk, presumably to sell me more things but I don't have a phone so suggested using messenger on the internet but that wasn't good enough for him. Later I saw where several other places had the same camera with guarantee for about the same price. It did finally arrive about a month after I ordered it.

Very competitive price, plus free shipping, on a professional grade (L series) Canon lens. Delivery was prompt, and the entire transaction (start to finish) was as smooth as can be. Abe's personnel did great!

I shopped on-line at several companies and ABES beat them all in terms of price! Photography equipment is expensive, so every dollar counts toward the bottom line and ROI. Thank you for keeping your prices as low as possible.

I could have happily done without the high pressure up sell after I made my order. Being told that the camera doesn't come with a battery to try to get me to tack on a few hundred more for a bigger battery wasn't too cool. Thankfully body only means a battery is included.

Easily found your website when searching google for available product, great deal on the items i wanted and easy transaction. My decision was made in part of the price but also because it is a family owned business. I love that! Happy to help out!

I had ordered my first camera many years ago from Abe's so when they advertised the best price on the camera I wanted I was happy to order. That was a mistake! I received a call to confirm my order. They proceeded to convince me that I would not get things that normally come with the camera (lens cap, battery, strap) unless I went with the 'retail kit'. Slick talker!! The new total came in an email as soon as I hung up. It was more than other places I had looked. I immediately called them back to cancel or adjust my order. They told me that wasn't possible. My only option was to wait until it arrived and return it by paying shipping and a restocking fee. I got off the phone seething mad!!! I will never consider this company again!!! I will make sure no one I know ever considers purchasing from them either. Extremely poor way to treat customers!

Nice experience in buying and the price, wondering how it will be delivered. Sounds like too good to be true!

I tried to use the financing option for credit card, was approved. Could not use due to no CVV or exp date. Annoying.
