THE BARGE INN, WOOLSTONE, MILTON KEYNES. Extremely attentive and friendly bar staff. Lovely cosy interior - beams! Very dog friendly. Nice and clean. Made to feel so welcome - will definitely be back. Had my favourite pink gin. The creme brulee was delicious!

We ate at the Bakers Arms Poole on the 13/9/2020. My wife’s rib eye steak was ok, but my crispy duck salad was a travesty! There was a “tablespoon” of duck mixed in with a heap of salad, I would have been better off getting a crispy duck takeaway from the local chinese restaurant! I would have had more than one mouthful. Then when the bill arrived, they had charged the full VAT, bearing in mind that the Chancellor had reduced the VAT on pub meals in the hope that the business would pass some of that on to the customer - to enhance their future business by attracting more custom. I won’t eat at Vintage Inns again, their policy sucks!

Four adults and two children had dinner at the Devils Dyke pub on 20 August. First bad sign - tatty food stained and frayed chairs. Sticky beer stained table. Starters very poor and over priced. Mains were over cooked and one (sea bass) sent back - dry and inedible. Vegetables old and wrinkly, probably left overs from lunch. Didn’t bother with a sweet. Overall an expensive and poor experience. Don’t go!

Had food there on many occasions this time it was truly awefull uncooked food, 1/2 dishes didnt arrive, ordered dinner got it in time for breakfast. Complained they took of the uncooked food from the bill wow ! Head office didnt want to know so considering the uncooked food made us ill have reported to EHO. Used to be a nice place to eat and considering the current climate maybe they should try and retain customers

Visited the New Mill Inn at Bathpool Taunton for what was supposed to be a romantic anniversary meal-anniversary just happened to fall on an eat out to help out night! Were shown to a table in the bar area-low comfy tub chairs-great for relaxing in the bar, absolutely awful for dining! Asked to move but no other tables available-all double booked all night, need to request where you want to sit when booking in future apparently-not that there will be an in future until “normal” service is fully resumed. If they are going to use the bar area for restaurant seating then h thy he should at least turn the tv off in the evenings!! Menu is printed daily-but didn’t have one of the starters as hadn’t come in on the delivery-could someone not have crossed it off or told the waitress before we ordered! Mains no where near as fancy as they used to be-everywhere seems to have dumbed down their menus due to Covid! Would have booked the local pub if I had wanted a simple menu! Good value due to the scheme but a very pub like experience instead of the usual Restaurant feel that you usually get with the New Inn. Won’t be rushing back any time soon I’m afraid.

Visited the Sandpiper for lunch using the govt help out scheme. Had read on Vintageinns website that they were being extra safety conscious but on arrival, none of the staff were wearing safety visas or socially distancing. They were not encouraging customers to register for track and trace. Felt so uncomfortable and unsafe that we left straightaway. It doesn’t take much effort to make guests feel safe - would dread to think the poor hygiene behind the scenes.
I’d rather pay full price and get a takeaway somewhere than risk catching Covid.

I came to this pub a few days ago and the staff were great food was OK. But there wasn't any Air conditioning I was absolutely sweating my ass off!!!!! We literally ate half of our meal and left it was that uncomfortable. After speaking to Head Office in Birmingham they said well we have 1700 pubs across the UK. My question was simply how can you keep your customers if you cannot provide adequate cooling for your guests to actually enjoy there food. The operator who I must say was quite abrupt on the phone was very unhelpful and didnt even offer to try to find out any information. She wanted me to get in contact with the pub itself. But what is the point when your HEAD OFFICE . Won't be coming here again very disappointed in the head offices attitude towards this issue.

Had a lovely meal at the Badger, Ponteland to celebrate a family birthday. We all felt very safe and comfortable as the staff were very well trained and friendly.
We all enjoyed our meals and they were well cooked and well presented. I had the Sea Bass which was very tasty.
Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon.

We had a meal with the Chancellors 50% cash reduction on food at The Tawny Owl, near Darlington.
My wife had a chicken dish covered with bread crumbles and chips (2nd choice) plus a small glass of house red. I had seam bream with mash and an Apricot Brulee pudding - no drink. They were OK . Thus would normally cost near £40 - sadly way way way too expensive for what it is. So fine given out discount but not for £40 so unless you really like the surroundings and value for money is no issue at all I would stay well clear. Also 2 out of 9 mains were not available.
Also we both had issues with entering our info for the Covid protection scheme - the system would not accept the pub name The Tawny Owl so i suspect many did not bother. We asked and you were supposed to enter just Tawny Owl. This is poorly advertised in the pub - some pubs have large signs with a QR code to assist. Staff did not, unlike our hotel, wear any face masks so overall we did not feel they have gone far enough to protect customers.
Sadly there are many much better in terms of safety, choice availability and value for money.

The Three Legged Cross, Ringwood. Zero stars. Absolutely outrageous attitude and service from this pub just now. I booked a table 3 weeks ago for 5pm today , in the garden because we have a young dog with us.(As specified on my booking) We turned up and was told there was no table in the garden, because it is a first come, first served policy. So what was the point of booking...am livid.. Especially as there were empty tables in the garden. No apology... Just a throw away sorry..unbelievable... Thanks for ruining our evening.

Pubs have normally been places where you can criticise and be rude about political parties and other organisations that you disagree with. No longer! Criticism of BLM for violence, destruction and assaulting the police is NOT to be tolerated by Vintage Inns pub staff enthralled in a religious love of this organisation. Using non-swearing language when talking to my friends about BLM their bar staff spies deemed this offensive and I have been banned! Be careful of any criticism of the Tories, Labour, Liberals, etc. Is it just political correctness in the 4th Reich that the UK has become?

Visited the bumble bee today in Gloucester, 1st meal out since lockdown, we ordered 2 pints , 4oz gammon Egg with chips and hunters chicken schiznel with chips.. this come to £30 .. it was the smallest portions I’d ever seen, no garnish or greens.. the gammon was about 2oz and the bbq sauce and bacon on the chicken was the smallest amount ever.. although it was tasty , for the money it was well over priced !! When we complain we were told they have to go by what head office say, and serve as they say !! We were offered more chips to bulk it out !! Will not be going again for food, no effort, small portions and expensive

We visited the Fox and Roman for Sunday lunch today, in the past, we have always been happy with both the service and food, however, today our food was served within two minutes of ordering which we found a little strange until we began to eat it - the vegetables including the roast potatoes, parsnip etc were all cold and raw, the meat and Yorkshire pudding were the only edible food. We complained to a lovely lady on the front desk who informed us that they had already received 2 further complaints that day and how sorry they were and they appreciated our feedback and it was a difficult time with reopening etc. When the bill arrived nothing had been taken off - I had wanted to say something but my husband said we would just not come back again and we paid it. Its such a shame, we had planned on booking Christmas day there but we will no longer - we were given a survey to fill out online but it won't allow you to which is why I am doing it on here instead.

Arrived Sunday at 3pm
Staff not welcoming- not friendly or accommodating even though free tables around.
Meal was cold with One slice of Turkey being all fat and meet dries at the sides. Told manager who thankfully apologised and took all good away to be replaced with hot food. The waitress was sulky as if we d offended her and stomped off after being asked if we could have a knife and fork, returned with it and stomped off again ( nothing said).
At the end the manager didn’t charge for the sides because of the inconvenience.

Very poor service. Waited 20mins before anyone approached us to take order for drink and meal. Then had to wait another 20mins before meal arrived. The chip containers were badly chipped. Not good hygiene. Menu was poor. Had a steak which was cooked well but only had 5 onion rings and half a tomato and a pile of useless greenery. Will not visit again. This visit ruined our 54th wedding anniversary.

We have just received a PARKING FINE from a Vintage Inn restaurant The Aperfield Inn, Westerham. We had Sunday lunch there with friends on a very wet day. None of the staff pointed out we needed register our vehicle. We have been using Vintage Inns restaurants in our area for many years and have NEVER had to register our vehicle. On the 21st February we had a meal at the Golden Retriever and DID NOT have to register our vehicle. COME ON VINTAGE INNS YOUR STAFF NEED TO STEP UP TO THE MARK AND INFORM YOUR CLIENTELE. Because a birthday and Anniversary has been ruined thanks to lack of staff training.

My husband and I visited The Glover Arms on Valentines night and pre-booked as we knew it would be busy. On arrival we were greeted in the usual friendly manner by Stuart and shown to our table. Ronda was our server for the night and she took our order very quickly. My husband chose the steak which was cooked to perfection and I had the chicken coconut curry which had a real kick to it and was delicious. All this enjoyed with a bottle of wine chosen from the extensive wine list. The mini pudding with coffee is just perfect to finish of with. We always enjoy our visit, the food and the relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend.

Three generations of my family met at the Fox, hathersage and were served by Phoebe. We had a wonderful time. The extensive menus were impressive and the food was excellent.
The service was excellent despite all tables being full.
We are all looking forward to the next time we meet up and that’ll be at The Fox again.
Thanks very much for such an enjoyable experience
Richard and family.

My wife and I booked the Black Horse in Brentwood Essex for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was very busy but we were shown to our reserved table with no delay. We both had roast beef and the meal was very tasty. The plate came with ample slices of tender roast beef, a large Yorkshire, roast potatoes and a pot of gravy. In a separate dish there was a good selection of mixed vegetables. My wife had a minor comment about the roast potatoes being too crispy and difficult to cut and chew. Our dining experience was very satisfactory and we will certainly return.

Kings Head , Wellesbourne . Have eaten a Sunday lunch here previously and enjoyed it therefore returned to celebrate my friends birthday . Took a long time for food to arrive and when it did all 4 meals were cold - our meals were returned to the kitchen to be microwaved - even this took quite a time to do ! . With a previous visit to compare by the quality of the food was lacking , significantly smaller portions of meat ! We were told money had been taken off the bill to compensate for the fact that our meals were served cold and that we all then ended up eating at different times . We ordered dessert and 3 out of the 4 were good . Service was slow throughout . We left to find £10 had been deducted overall .... did not feel this adequately reflected the poor service we had received.
