Ordered snooper elite. Unit was out of stock until early to middle of May. Got a call to say the had some grade A ex. Demos at a reduced price all in good order. This I agreed to.
However the unit would not download or update and would not pick up gps signal.
Terrible time getting through to tec. Department. Then advised to return the unit to snooper direct. Offered a replacement grade A unit.
I declined and and said I would wait for the new units to come in. I was offered the new unit at the discounted price for the grade A which is fine. However I have returned the old unit to snooper direct at a cost of £8.70.
I guess I do not feel a valued customer given the time wasted trying to get the unit to work and the cost of wasted time trying to get through to the tec. Dept and having to absorb the cost of the return.
I previously had a Road angel with no issues and never had any issues with customer service.
So snooper you need to get your act together I have heard good reports about the elite but customer service, not sue at the moment.
Any problems with the new unit when it arrives it will be returned and I will go back to Road angel. Just feel very frustrated at this present time.

I have 3 snooper products and whilst they work, they are very good. But unfortunately, there have been problems with all of them.
Venturapro S6450 (Sat Nav) – bought 2013. Updating the map (twice yearly) has been fraught until this year, when they at last have a system that works without having to contact support. The free map for life was not quite free when I had to purchase a new sd card as the unit was not built future proofed. The speed camera alert is good, but the new system drives you mad with the unnecessary constant bleeping when near an averaging set of cameras. the speed camera updates are chargeable, when other makes include them for free. The unit occasionally locks up mid travel necessitating you to pull over and reset it. On the first use of it this year, it went bonkers and produced rubbish. I updated it when I got home, and it now works fine (for now!).
DVR-4HD (Dash Cam) – bought 2016. The first unit failed to over write the sd card so was replaced. The second unit then worked fine for some time, but then occasionally would lock up (reformatting the sd card cured this but in the mean time made the unit useless). Support informed me that I would have to pay £30 for a diagnostic check on the unit as it was over a year old. This is where the Sales of Goods Act 2015 comes in and after telling them that I had rights, it was taken in, then send back to me with no explanation and then worked (for free). It had to be a corrupt firmware which cannot be may fault. Having a now updated firmware I noted that some to the original features of the unit had gone/changed. But the unit worked normally for about 2 weeks until the screen did not go blank after starting up. The unit now works, but with the screen permanently on. The DVR player had problems and support gave me another version that now works.
STP1600 Sensors & Bluetooth TPMS – bought 2016. There has been random drop out of at least 1 sensor on long trips but has no discernible pattern. The sensors did show signs (when renewing the batteries) of water ingress (I think) as the battery contacts on a couple of the units were showing corrosion (now cleaned up) thereby giving intermittent battery connection. I only use this unit when towing my caravan and when the caravan wheel sensor fails (and then comes back on without me touching it) makes it pointless.
General – When the units work, they are very good (apart from the speed camera alert). However, as all of the units have failed at some time, I have lost confidence in their use and when I can afford it will replace them all with another’s manufacture. I was willing to pay a high cost for these units and now feel it has not been justified. And, I bet that support (who are generally good) are as fed up with me contacting them as I am having to do it. Buy cheap and then bung it and buy another may be my new motto.
