First of all I point to point out that the customer service on the phone is absolutely fantastic, very friendly and professional and they tried to to everything possible to solve my issues what the company didn't do right. I wish I could give 5 Stars to the employees I talked on the phone with while explaining my bad experience with the company.
In my case I tried Moneycorp to send money from Germany to the Dominican Republic. I completely understand that transferring payments to the DR always raises red flags when doing international banking do to money laundering laws and was prepared to verify my identity and accounts with additional documentations. I signed up end of April, went through the basic verification process, received the transfer info to fund the account with a wire transfer from my German account.
There I ran into the first problem, after issuing the wire transfer to Moneycorp, all of a sudden I was not able anymore to log into my account when I tried to check if my transfer has arrived. I called them and the blocked log in was solved, but the (friendly) operator was not able to tell me what caused that my account was blocked.
But ok, problem was solved, now I sent the additional documentation requested to verify my Dominican residency and account statements on May 4th, and issue the transfer.
After that I did not hear anything from the company for many days. I did not get notified if my documents were accepted, I did not get notified if they still need any additional info from me, nothing, while my transfer keep showing as 'pending' when I checked online.
I waited a few days, when I still didn't hear anything and didn't see any progress, I sent an email on May 9th to ask if there is a problem with the transfer I tried to do, or if they still need any additional documents from my side - I did not receive any reply.
On May 12th I called again (international oversea call), when I talked to a very friendly lady, she checked my account and couldn't see anything wrong, she promised to inform the department in charge of the transfer to urgently proceed with the transfer.
The next 2 days nothing happened, the transfer still showed as 'pending', I did not get any notifications explaining what the problem is, no email, nothing.
So on May 14th I called again, again I talked with a VERY friendly employee, who took me several times on hold to really investigate what the problem is with my transfer.
After almost 1 hr on the phone with them (I fear my next phone bill!), the most ridiculous question - almost funny, if it wouldn't be so shocking - the department that verified my documents claimed that the name on my bank statement wasn't the same on my IDs I sent in to verify my person - which was strange, since I was sure the same name shows up on all documents. After inquiriing more it turned out that my online bank statement said:
'Buenas Tardes *** xxxx (my name).." and they need to verify the person with the name 'Buenas Tardes; !!!!
Note: Buenas Tardes means 'good afternoon' in Spanish, my bank statement simply said at the top 'Good afternoon 'my name' .
Now, while I don't expect to all employees are fluent in all languages, I would expect that an international banking company at least knows some basic Spanish - or at least could have send me an email to ask me what this means, instead of waiting 10 days without doing anything??
I finally received the transfer, the exchange was ok, but not the best, and an additional 15 Pound fee (which was not clear that this will be the cost) made it actually more expensive for me to transfer with Moneycorp instead of doing a regular international wire transfer.
I''m glad everything was finally solved - thanks again to the awesome customer service by phone - , but I won't use their service again.

Got rather concerned and fed up with so many duplicated emails/messages relating to this transaction. Worried unnecessarily about potential scams although everything went well eventually. Rather peeved about being charged €21 for transferring €3K via Moneycorp euro account to our Spanish euro account. Seems a bit steep.
