All these reviews are from short term users. This product is built to get through the warranty period and that's about it. After 3 years it's falling apart, the light no longer works at all even with a new bulb, which by the way is a very standard bulb, not like a proper s.a.d light at all. And thus doesnt actually offer those benefits. Especially not in the ten mins before you get up. Most critically for any clock is the ability to tell the time, sadly after only 3 years it now goes slow, by only a few minutes when you least expect it- really handy for the morning routine, then goes back to normal for a while. Real crap. I was going to buy the main rival and probably cheaped out. Avoid

Lumie Active 250 is a great solid product, very attractive to look at and has many options for different functions. Waking up by light with the sound of gentle lapping waves rather than a clanging alarm feels so much better in the mornings! Had my clock for a while now and recall it arriving speedily and was well packaged.

I haven't had much opportunity to use it in winter but it is an excellent light box in every sense. If a light box will help with your depression this is a treasure.

We love our lumie alarm clock! it has made dark winter mornings so much more bearable by waking up in a light room. We don't use the alarm function, just the light, because I prefer my usual alarm and the light wakes my husband up naturally.
I use the sunset function in the evenings because it's just a lovely glow in the corner rather than needing it to induce sleep!

Good product and good service. Needed to replace 2 old tubes in an old SAD lamp. Initially only bought one but realised afterwards that I needed 2. Sales were good and only charged one delivery charge as goodwill. Pleasant and quick to deliver. Good lamp in the winter when days are short and sun hardly ever shines. Well done Lumie.! Will buy again if needed.
