Be extremely cautious when your car will end up with this company!
Avoid like fire!
My insurance company decided to send my car to Copart for an inspection which should last a week.
After 3 weeks (!) my car was finally returned, but in what state… It was so filthy like someone would burry it and then dug back up. All interior was covered in ground dust, someone left drivers side window open and there are marks of rain flooding on the door and drivers seat with a big stain…
Rubbish left in my car (paper and foil), the car also had some marker on the windscreen and Copart brand stick foil which left hard to remove glue residue.
Besides the overall filth which makes the car look disgusting there were also damages done to front of my car! Front bumper was damaged with a dent in it as well and the hood was damaged like someone tried to force open it because they were to daft to figure out the lock mechanism. Now it doesn’t close properly and is crooked. There were also some parts left on my seat which were not assembled back into their place.
Just to mention my car is a Jaguar XF R-Sport and it was heart breaking to see my car returned in such condition after JUST a VISIUAL inspection.
3 days and the case is still ‘under investigation’ I’m furious as I’m left without my car for longer as I want them to make things right and I’m still waiting for an answer.
Please avoid like fire and if you have no choice make loads of pictures before your car will be sent off to them for any reason.

Unfair and dishonest company. Copart bends the law selling membership which is refundable following Consumer Contracts Regulations which came into force on 13 June 2014 and implement the Consumer Rights Directive within a cooling period. They refuse however to refund a membership online purchase where the law states we have a right to opt out within 14 days. According to Copart people who pay the fee are not consumers. Following other comments about them there is only one advice - AVOID!

I can't believe they have now put the membership fee up to £100 , with all the other fees going up well above inflation cars are no longer worth buying .
Very dissapointed in copart .

this is the worst company I've ever had to deal with they inflate the car prices when you're buying them on the auctions and then I'm 90% sure that when you put the same car back in the same auction they stop the bids because somebody if after that car and they do not listen to a word you saying had to take my car that I had in there for sale out three times because they would just not listen to what I was saying and after all the problems I had with this company in the last 4 weeks I have lost over £10,000 with us company and my phone bill has gone up £35 even trying to sort it out I also bought a car that said it had keys and when it arrived it had no keys they would not believe me had to ring the driver while the drive was here which they struggle to believe him to in the end it took me 4-5 weeks to get my money back this company is absolutely disgrace has lost me a lot of money in the last few weeks and I've got a complaint and they never got back to me at all i could go on and on the
reply to this comment is mostly wrong the mileage discrepancy was entered on a date before I bought the vehicle on the 26th of August this year and the fact they listed the vehicle twice on your auctions and I did not want it listed until this was sorted out and then relisted the vehicle after the third time when i was told that it would not be relisted yet and the live auction did not give anybody chance to bid at this vehicle your company is a joke and lost me lot of money in the last 4 weeks

Copart fees jumping up to double of last years, £75 if you pay prompt or up to £100 if you dont, copart fees are now getting ridiculous, cars are overpriced, and addons just killing buying from you, I have been a member for several years but not next year, time to try somewhere else.

Customer service locked me out of my account and are not helpful.
Paid £300 for them to push out motorcycle of compound but they refused to help load onto trailer saying health and safety. Alot of lots are cat B now even flood damaged and light damaged vehicles! Co part don't show all the damage and even take photos too obscure to hide damage. They bump up the price and even set reserves too high. On alot of lots, prices are too high.

I have won and paid for a car with Copart. Copart also arranged delievery of my vehicle. On 04/09/20 i had a call that my car will arrive that day. It is now 06/09/20, 6days after the call and i have no idea where my car is. All i know is it's not with Copart but with a complete stranger organised by Copart. The person could be doing anything to the car. Take parts, tamper with the vehicle. I feel completely powerless and insecure as in what to do. This is very unprofessional and stressful.

Purchased a car, sight unseen, from the Wisbech yard and paid in full including delivery.
I then came across the reviews on Trustpilot and was pretty horrified and didn't really know what would turn up. Stories of missing parts, bad description and further poor handling damage filled me with dread.
I can happily report that my own experience has been excellent. I communicated by email, which were generally answered quickly and effectively.
The car was delivered within a week and was actually better than expected. The photos and description provided by Copart on their auction listing were true and accurate. The car has no additional handling damage and has clearly been moved about properly.
My delivery was out of area and completed by a sub hauler employed by Copart. This again was professionally conducted and the delivery driver was careful in his handling of the car.
Overall excellent experience.

No communication.
First time the car went through, no contact from Copart as to what happened. Couple of days later, having still not heard from them, I called to be told it was just short of reserve, so they didn’t sell it. I said if they asked I would have done a deal with the highest bidder, lowered my reserve.
I agreed to put it through again.
Exactly the same happened again. But this time I chased them on the same day, and asked them to contact the highest bidder, and let them what my reserve was.
Again no one contacted me back, so a few days later, I called them, to be told the buyer had agreed to my reserve, so it was sold.
When I asked how much
the fees were, they were £35 more than expected, the same amount of a relist, but they say you get 3 attempts included in the original fee, mine had only gone through twice.
Few more days, and still nothing heard from Copart. So I called again to be told the car had been paid for and collected that day, so payment was being sent out.
Eight days after being told payment is being sent out, still nothing. Phoned them again, to be told, by a very apoplectic lady, she doesn’t know why I haven’t been paid, and the department responsible are not taking calls.
So about 38 days after Copart accepted my car, and 14 days after they sold it, I still haven’t been paid.
Now 19th August, another week goes by, and still no payment.
5 days ago, they asked for more information so they can look into it, still nothing

Worst customer service. No complaints handling team, No regulator to stop.
I called on Monday to open new a account. I was told it’s very quick and easy process, I wanted to bid for car which was ending in 2 days. I was told that normally if I Pay the account fee and upload the papers it will be ready within 24hours to bid. After 30 hours I called again and I was told; I have to pay FastTrack fee for account activation. No mention in terms and conditions and the account customer service representative told me my account will end in December 31 even I paid for full year fee.
Now I can’t bid for the car, can’t close account even have used because it’s non refundable.

Same as the guy further down the list, I paid my subscription, loaded my documents 2 weeks ago and I am still pending and can't bid, I've already missed multiple vehicles I would have purchased but if the service is this bad before I start I dread to think what it's like as a member. I will be asking for my money back

I would leave 0 stars if I could
Where to start I purchased and paid for a car total cost £6500 pound the company fail to deliver there Customer service is a total joke I would strongly advice people not to use them
If you don’t pay in three days you get fined but they can fail to deliver in there 7-10 day period without any notice and they think this a good way to do business
All phone calls will cost you and you still won’t get any answers

Bought a 2013 Mercedes E Class with 63000 miles with undiagnosed engine fault.
How bad can it be?. Crankshaft bearings have gone, oil full of metal particles... needs a complete engine refurbishment.
Car was delivered about 2 weeks after my payment for delivery was made. It was filthy inside and out and battery flat. I didn't even know it was getting delivered and found it outside my house one night when i was putting the bin out.
Just about everything that can be removed has been stripped from the car, spare wheel, tool kit, first aid kit, allen key for the convertible roof, car matts and probably more.
So in addition to the expensive auction cost, on top of the auction price, and the transport cost, and the engine refurbishment cost, and replacing the missing items from the car, and servicing everything on the car - front brake shoes were shot, alloys need refurbished, i've made a very expensive mistake buying a car from Copart.
If you're thinking of buying a car from them, don't.
