We were due to travel Orient Express on April 18 Venice to London, and the trip was understandably cancelled. The delay in getting a refund wasn’t understandable.
It took 3 weeks to get a refund. Airlines do that in 24 hours.
And then they shortchanged us. They originally charged our credit card $5,591.90 but they refunded $5,241.63.
After a complaint, they claimed the difference was due to the strength of the British pound....which is nonsense. Any exchange rate risk is THEIRS.
So they admitted as much, but said I had to submit a request for the dollar difference to their reservations department. And that will take ANOTHER 3 weeks.

Stayed a week ago at Kwai River lodge with Belmond. Having been to a different lodge previously , which did not diapppoint in the game viewing, but didn’t hit the spot with regard to the lodge, you can certainly count on this one to meet expectations.
The lodge and staff were delightful. Staff very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Food an excellent standard not hitherto experienced by me on safari, and the guide very knowledgeable. He asked what we wanted to see and he found it! Leopard seen every day which is quite an achievement.
We don’t rush about wanting to see the big five in a day so were able, with our enthusiastic vehicle companions, to spend some hours watching lions awakening from their daytime sleep and then starting their night prowl.
You won’t see Buffalo here, and not huge numbers of birds, but there is plenty to interest you.
One thing the site doesn’t clarify but the ladies might like to know is that you need take nothing in the way of personal care with you. Rooms fully equipped with soaps shampoos etc and a working hairdryer.. lots of points to charge devices. Wi fi is weak in the rooms and a signal obtainable at the lodge, but the signal is not all that strong, but then , you are not going to this place to be attached to your phone!
Leave the 21st century behind and and enjoy it!

Beautiful experience, would recommend to anyone that wishes a luxury location in Rio. Ana Luiza made our stay enjoyable, Ocean view suite simply perfect.

Belmond is an amazing luxury type, higher end hotel, train, cruise and tour company with hotels and services in South America, North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. I had a hard time believing I was writing their first review on Trustpilot but that is an oversight now corrected. We found out about them, checked them out and worked with them for our personal trip to Peru in January 2016. We have recommended them to friends. This was the best possible way for us to experience just as a couple as much of the history and culture both ancient and current as we could in Peru in just one week. We saw and stayed in Belmond hotels in Lima, Cusco and the Urubamba River Sacred Valley and at Machu Picchu.
We were met at the airport by their reps, toured with very knowledgeable, gracious personal guides, stayed in the terrific and often very unique Belmond hotels each of which offered excellent dining - to include staying overnight at the only hotel up top at Machu Picchu, the Belmond sanctuary Lodge - and also traveled on one of the Belmond trains while there. We understand they operate the Orient Express trains in Europe and Asia.
In short, this group has more going on and going for it than most travelers apparently know. We absolutely felt that Belmond made our Peru trip an inspiring one!
Their packages where attractive and more affordable than many luxury type packages as it is direct to the customer. Check them out.
