Calls and telling me that my computer has been hacked
Just this morning someone from india called me and convincing me that i have problems with my computer and that it has been hacked and in risk of losing personal information. He made me pay $350 with my credit card and promised that i can have my pc to be like new and also protection for 10 years. He worked on my computer for about an hour and my computer resets. My pc shows no improvement after that.
Shortly after, another person from the same company called and apologized for the other technician's fault. He said that the guy that helped me before was already fired because of his mistake, and now this guy, named Alex Park, and yes he is Indian, offered to clean up the mess and asked me to transfer another $350 through western something bank. He claims the credit card transaction was already cancelled. However it still shows pending when i checked it. I refused to pay and he talked his way through and he ended up 'fixing' my computer and have me transfer the money after I can see that the credit card charge is cancelled. After another hour that he messed with my computer I still see no improvement on my pc.
Now I am worried about my computer and my personal information being hacked. I have changed my password for bank account, will change email passwords and other stuff. I am planning to block my credit card and request for a new one. I am also planning to probably re-format my pc, might as well get a new windows installed.
