Purchased a fuse which blew instantly, called them up for some friendly advice...salesperson Became hostile and aggressive telling me “I’ve ordered the wrong fuse” hilarious I didn’t even want a refund, simply reached out for help and advice, and got told (THREE TIMES) “I’ve ordered wrong fuse! So tell me then Mr 19 years in the industry haha, how is it that I am currently using the exact F3.15A working absolutely fine? But wait...No, I’ve ordered the wrong fuse! Work that one out clever clogs. Maybe help your customers and listen to them instead of being brain dead to customers needs and oh “I know it all 19 years in game” what an absolute Clown!! Send him on a customer service course......NEVER AGAIN! Avoid! Communication is also non existent, as for Covid, you should have all the time in the world to deal with enquiries and customer emails? What are you lot playing at😂🙈😂

Have to agree with other reviewers here. I received an SACD with a damaged sleeve and requested a return with the idea of a replacement. The response I got was rude and aggressive, quite astonishing really in this day and age. David told me that I was being "ridiculous" and that "it is only a CD so just play it!" I returned the item anyway and opened a PayPal claim for refund.
Will be avoiding this seller in the future and would advise others to do likewise. There is plenty of other choice out there.

Phoned David at MCRU for advice on suitable mains lead to feed Music Works G3 mains block.
Ordered MCRU No5 mains lead as recommended by David. David phoned a few days later to let me know it was ready for despatch and payment made. Cable arrived next day. It works superbly in my system, spacious open grain free sound with tight punchy bass, much better than another widely known manufacturers cable in providing such an overall well balance sound. Excellent product, service and price.
Thank you David

Thank you MCRU for the brilliant service and the great advice. My order arrived packed amazingly. Prior to my order I phoned MCRU to get an advice I spoke to this lady who was so nice and told me that David was out and suggested to write an email which I did Knowing that people are so busy and that it will take at least 48 hours to get an answer. I was so surprised to get a response to my email from David within an hour and he was brilliant. Thank you so much guys all of you.

What a breath of fresh air it has been to come across MCRU and David!
Unlike other large dealers that I won’t mention, David offers frank advise that has been spot on. No ifs or but’s... And better still he offers really competitive prices (much more than the two dealers I have spent eye watering amounts with over the years (no customer loyalty from them).
Nothing has been too much trouble, and when one brand new sealed item had a manufactures defect (not David’s fault) he went way over and above to put things right and ensure I was happy... I simply can not fault my experiences. David and MCRU is my new Audiophile 1st Stop.

Ordered a Mains Regenerator and a few accessories from David at MCRU, excellent service as before. If you need to ask David anything just email him, I’ve always received very fast replies to all my emails.

Dave has just done me a great deal on some vinyl. He did the same when I met him at the North West Hi-Fi show. He might be abrupt, but just be abrupt back! I'm pretty sure he can take it.

There is poor communication, there is being very busy, and then there is just being plain rude. Other reviewers have stated that David's communication skills need a little work which he has defended in some instances here. I have never dealt with someone with such a lack of people skills. He seems incapable of giving a proper response to straightforward questions and will straight up ignore you if he can't be bothered with them. Seems good with excuses and not accepting responsibility for his own failings based on my experience and the trend with other non 5 star reviews here. I guess he won't learn. No way to run a business.

Great service, advice and prices. I have made several purchases from Mains Cables-r-us -including products not widely available such as high end fuses, often taking advantage of multi-buy offers. Without exception, I have been surprised at the improvement in the audio quality of my hi-fi and pleased I "experimented" with these purchases.
Many thanks to David for his advice and support.

Probably great products, David is probably a great guy. Unfortunately information flow is slower that one expects these days.

Rude and condescending staff if you need to speak with them. Buy elsewhere or order online to avoid any interaction.

i have dealt with David Brook on many occasions for the past 8 years. He is incredibly knowledgeable, a person of integrity who provides honest advice and who will recommend products appropriate to the application rather than the most expensive option. it is clear to me that he is a dedicated audiophile who tries to design products with a focus on maximising performance at the lowest possible cost. He also sells products that are well known in hi fi circles for their quality. He is very approachable and has superb after sales service. I have seen the negative reviews on this site but I can say that in my experience, David's customer service is absolutely flawless.

Two weeks and still no sign of my order, perhaps it is held up on the boat from China? Also the owner, rude, arrogant and has absolutely no concept in customer service. Hifiwigwam stir any memories?
I will never use this joker again, all past communication I have ever had has been short, abrupt and shows a clear disdain for the proles who dare to buy anything less than his top of the line imported goods.

I received an abrupt email a couple of days after ordering stating I hadn’t responded to an earlier email requesting size info (which I definitely did not receive).
I replied giving the requested info and the items were dispatched and arrived quickly.
However wrong sizes were sent and after three emails I still haven’t heard back, even my request for a return/exchange went unanswered which I’m certain isn’t in keeping with distance selling regs.
Shame, as I’ve put a few people onto this company but after this I won’t be using them again.

I'm living in the middle east and have ordered a couple of items from MCRU. The first shipment arrived without issues; I had a problem with the second shipment (not the fault of MCRU) which was immediatly rectified and the items reshipped with no questions asked. I'm very happy with the service and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.

I had a bad experience with delivery a few months back. The owner subsequently got in touch to apologise in person and to talk me through the planned improvements to their service. I've since ordered another item and all was handled smoothly and efficiently. The company is run by a genuine enthusiast, so I'm delighted to see them getting on top of issues.

i bought 8 Isotek US plugs & IEC connectors, they were great quality as compared
to Oyaide, but only cost 66% as much, they were all copper component & 24K gold plated to prevent oxidation. only problem is i'd like to finish my pre-amp from Japan before i can get to making the new power cable, but i believe they would be a great upgrade from my old ones. again, Mains-Cables-R-Us provided excellent service in
getting the parts to me that i would recommend they to any friend.

I ordered something not from stock, elements had to be hand built. Despite that I received the order in just over a week. Very pleased with it as it does the job even better than expected.
I just emailed David with a number of questions. He replied in about two minutes, very impressive.

Main Cables Are Us sells nice items. In particular I have bought 2 power extension for my Hi-Fi from MCRU.
Once it went smoothly. Once the extension had to be shipped unassemblied because the shipping cost advertised did not cover the real shipping cost to send it assembled (it was a relatively long 6 gang extension). So I had to assembly it from the separate shipped parts at my expense. This time, I have paid for my third extension two weeks ago and it is still being prepared for shipping (although it was advertised as in stock).
Nevertheless the quality of the products is good and I am not implying any malicious intent at all. I just would like MCRU to be more... organized.

Rang Mains cables-r-us for some advice on speaker cable, in particular Tellurium Q black. Got great advice from them, and about 10 minutes later the cables were on their way. Arrived two working days later, and they live up to every expectation. Great service and product!

I bought the 'cables r us' power supply for a Chord Qute Dac to replace the standard (rubbish) power supply. The difference was outstanding: less sibilance, better definition, improved imaging and a big increase in the quality and quantity of the bass. It was impressive straight out of the box but 'broke in' after about 24 hours and took another step up in quality. The power supply was extremely well finished, so much so that you would think you were looking at something that was closer to £1000 than £150.
I ordered it for next day delivery and it arrived on time. David e-mailed several times to check that everything had arrived and that I was with happy with the product.
Highly recommended from start to finish. Well done David and thank you.

I have been into hi-fi ever since I replaced the cartridge on my dad's Imperial radiogram and used Plasticine to weight the stylus. So 40 years of tinkering etc. My first experience of the effect of mains cables came from the Penta show at Heathrow and by co-incidence it was Graham Nalty (Black Rhodium) using a new mains lead to improve the sound of one of his own design amps. I have over the last 15 years tried various DIY and manufacturers blocks and cables, borrowing some to test and making up my own as well as purchasing cheaper and pricier options. I have made two purchases from MCRU that have transformed my sound quality and it is the best tonal balance, clarity and foot tapping enjoyment I have ever had from a system. First purchase was Mains Lead No.27. Immediate improvement with this plugged straight into wall socket to amp and more expensive well know lead straight into wall to CD. As Malcolm Steward says it is a "killer cable" and the magic (my words) is in the sum of the parts working together. I have emailed David numerous times and always received great advice and answers. It was the No. 27. Cable that convinced me that in my house and system, RFI must be a problem as the improvement gained by the double RFI action of cable sheath (Faraday Cage) plus Carbon Infused Sleeve was so good. I decided to follow through and get a mains block. The RFI and plating science David follows seems to be sound. I could not afford to buy a No. 44 mains block and add the Carbon Infused Sleeve to it. I decided to go for the Audiophile Silver plated mains block, opted for the silver cable, added Carbon Infused sleeving and one of the new AMR gold plated fuse. Cost £132.20 inc. P&P. The big questions were- will this be better than plugging straight into the wall? And will the sound be improved? No surprise to know that it is a big yes to both questions. I advise anyone to try David's Cables but do dialogue with him as it is instructive and enlightening. He makes the differing products in his range for very good reasons. I think my more expensive woven cable may just get replaced by another No.27, but not before I email David first!!
